Crap place to fight, but you can't stop playing just because you have a bounty.

Got surprised and forgot about missile-shield.

Amazingly the disarm tactic worked very well, and I got a bit carried away forgetting I was fighting at my temple. Should never fought there, or at least allowed myself to get so low.

I was also very afraid to flashfire because I can hit good aligned creatures and damn myself (blades swing). Was also afraid to use other spells than localize gravity, because with his weapon in hand he was eating me alive.

Darned BMG are also a pain to maintain battle ready, and a long enticing conversation doesn't help.

 

The moment I felt the fight was done was when the "harsh discord" laged me for what felt like 2 rounds.

I managed to flee, but apparently reentered his room to my death.

I never expected the lag, I had flight and force-field up, so getting lagged though those fells totally alien.

Let's say language drooped to profanity the moment I noticed I couldn't flee because I was lagged.

 

Darion was 5 stars.

He chose to strike at night (sear), with a magic weapon.

Yeah, you really should have gotten away when he first walked in, prepped up and then dug your heels into a room you were confident to fight in.

 

You lost 200 hp before you were even ready to fight, also.

 

 

Darion was most likely playing with you as I'm sure he has a noremove instrument that you are not resistant to.

Leondir is an elf and I'm pretty sure elves are at least slightly resistant to 'angelic purr'

 

And it is very simple for a bard at his skill and level to acquire the materials needed to make his instrument noremove.

 

However, he may have decided to forego the noremove and add something for hit/damroll or avg damage.

 

The levels or hit/dam they can raise makes crusader weapons look like Igor sells them out the back of his shop.

Poor preparation on both parts. Sure you were near your temple and recall wasn't an option, but running away until it was daylight and in an area where you can utilize more of your spells was.

The bard was obviously just spamming wear weapon there at the end. He should have used a cursed weapon.

Dissonance lagged through protective shield. Intentional? (Question for the staff)

And as for the overpoweredness of this bard, he almost got three rounded by hgurkei. Bash is op.

Currently I disagree with the general perception of imbalance with bard changes. There are, however, multiple classes with skills and abilities that could be evaluated and perfected. As it stands, if we overbalance bards immediately we risk placing them in a power threshold below other standard classes. That was the status quo. My personal take on this would be to keep monitoring and to take a hard look at max power thresholds that are already achievable.
