Breath Saves

So far I've seen one piece of non-rare eq with breath saves. I think it is only fair that the equipment that has been changed to involve breath saves be posted publicly. Considering the bards revamp, and the mass amounts of eq, the player base and immortals could have a better idea on what to possibly change about bards, if anything at all.

Object 'clerical robes' is type armor, material cloth.
Extra flags: bless nonmetal.
Weight is 2, value is 1000, level is 50.
Armor class is 12 pierce, 10 bash, 15 slash, and 20 vs. magic.
Affects savingaffl by -2.
Affects savingmaled by -2.
Affects savingmental by -2.
Affects path of deceit by 5.
Affects ray of truth by 5.
Affects managain by 5.
Affects hitroll by 1.
Affects damroll by 1.
Affects savingbreath by -6.

IMO, there is not enough eq to support breath saves. also it would take an eternity to add it to existing pieces.

 

why not change the saves to afflic, mal, and mental.

 

the songs with mal type affects would be mal saves

 

the songs with extreme dmg would be afflic saves

 

lullaby and the likes would be mental saves

 

would make for a ton less work and headaches in the end

It is utterly retared having to fight Bards who for one, Have not been nerfed in the slightest, Two Have an offence weapon that is more accurate in hitting six times a round then a hasted monk is and is as defencive as Polearm wielding Blademaster with is position in low. There has been so many jumped on Nerfings going on against Crusaders which have been found to be mortal time and time again as long as this game has had them implemented but Bards were dropped into this game knowing that they were not ready and now there is no way to defend against them, let alone the fact fighting one is just absoulety out of the questiong. 

Get rid of Breath Saves all together, Make bards song Saves address the afflictive Mental ect....that they cause.

-Increased bard thac0 by 500% (easier to be hit, harder to hit others)

 

-Weapon construction requires skill now, as opposed to earlier iterations of pure random drops.

 

-Materials adjusted to reduce weapon power spikes.

 

-Fixed several unintended bard bugs that was giving them power spikes

 

-Hugely reduced one bard path potential damage.

 

-Breath saves will be adjusted as needed. No evidence to suggest it's a game breaking problem (via logs, not 'i lost now fix it' posts)

 

And some three or four more at least Morl posted in changes that I forgot to record (if someone has those shoot me a record for the change log).

 

The real reason bards are so powerful is because all the imms are playing one and we're only interested in steamrolling you poor chumps.
