The Inner Aabahran Gate
  The first line of defense against the hordes of the north, Aabahran Gate
is aptly named.  It stands on the edge of the ever-encroaching demonic
armies, holding out for all Aabahran against an abysmal fate.  Chaos has
traditionally stormed from that direction and the area is justifiably
fortified.  The gate is of expert design, combining the legendary Knight
experience with equally renown dwarven engineering.  The battlements are
shielded against flying enemies and the gate itself is massive.  Runes of
protection and more artistically-minded etchings have been worked into the
heavy stone, speaking of the care and time put into this structure.  The
northern road heads towards the outer gate whereas the Northern Commons lies
to the south.

Between the Aabahran Gates
  A huge, completely empty, area has been left between the outer and inner
gates of Maelbrims north-eastern double wall.  Bare of even shrubbery or
small bushes, the only thing that has been allowed to grow here is grass,
and even that is being cropped short on a regular basis.  A paved road
connects the outer and inner gates, forcing anyone willing to enter the city
proper to pass under two massive portcullis.  Once these portcullis are
lowered, the place is a perfect killing ground.

The Forum
  The newly built Forum is Maelbrim's premier meeting area.  It is a large
circle, its boundaries marked by columns and its ground laid with marble. 
Here is where public deals are struck, orations are given, and a great deal
of spectacle takes place.  It was ground zero for the catastrophe that was
summoned to this land, but there are no signs of that devastation now.  What
had once been a ruinous crater is now a symbol of life and a flurry of
activity.  The King's Square is due east, the Northern Commons to the north,
the Southern Commons to the south and Green Square to the west.  A fountain
has been placed in the middle of the square, a true masterpiece of art. 
Just north of it, a white marble statue has been erected, depicting a very
hairy, square, small person.  Must be a dwarf.  
 
Some graffiti has been surreptitiously placed here, depicting a White Wolf.

Vigilance Way
  The southern half of the north-south road that divides Maelbrim in two,
Vigilance Way was named as a sobering reminder of the terrible price of
laxity.  One must always stand cautious against the innumerable dangers that
threaten to strike one down, not only for one's own sake, but for the sake
of those all round.  It is a long, quiet, contemplative road with little
traffic that connects the Forum to Seer's Point.  Trees have been planted to
either side, marking the passage of those that walk this road.  The Library
and Academy are to the west and the Conservatory of Nature can be seen to
the east.  From here, the road opens up into the Forum to the north.
