The Ruins of Xymerria

What do you feel is missing? Kind of need elaboration before anyone can answer if what you see/don't see is intentional.

There is a key in a chest that cannot be taken.

There is a locked door that can not be passed, rammed nor unlocked.

There is a description and a sign in a particular room suggesting there would be an exit up and a high level area filled with demons following it, yet, there is no such exit.

Cave in

[Exits: south]
Ilnaeth Korinal, mistriss of the black robes, sells magical items salvaged from the ruins.
A cave troll walks in.

list
[Lv Price Coin Qty] Item
[40 30000  GO  -- ] a shard of black glass     <= Item does not answers to any keyword, even "browse 4.".
[20 25000  GO  -- ] a charred and frayed scroll  <= If bought, can't be recited, if dropped can't be picked up.
[15 20000  GO  -- ] a toxic wand
[10 10000  GO  -- ] an orb of ice

Object 'orb frozen ice' is type staff, material ice.
Extra flags: glow.
Weight is 1, value is 10000, level is 10.
Has 15 charges of level 10 'chill touch'.
This item is spellforged with: chill touch.

Object 'wand toxic dripping' is type wand, material unknown.
Extra flags: glow.
Weight is 3, value is 20000, level is 15.
Has 5 charges of level 0 'acid blast'.
This item is spellforged with: acid blast.

Object 'scroll charred frayed' is type scroll, material unknown.
Extra flags: none.
Weight is 1, value is 25000, level is 20.
Level 20 spells of: 'stone golem'.
This item is spellforged with: stone golem.

L10 spell lvl spell of chill touch is useless in my opinion.

L0 spell lvl acid blast ....

The stone scroll is a huge change.

L20 scroll means that you can only buy it at L20.

25 000 gold is a bit pricy. It's fine for a L20 stone golem, since the others are all L15.

The stone golem has always been a crutch for mages ranking bellow L30. Mages have crap meele/defences and can't dirt mobs.

But they could buy that scroll at L10 and use it to rank up. Normaly by having the golem tank while they stand behind and drain their mana casting low damage aff spells.

Although the 10 000 gold scroll was L10 it casted L15 spell of stone golem wich means (you could only buy it at L10,) you got a L10 golem at L10, a L15 golem at L15 and a L15 golem at L20.

Making it L20 hinders mage ranking a bit, specially in the L15-20 range. Where your alsatian can't tank, brownies are no longer worth while and the next pet, the gorilla is only available at L20.

I would make the suggestion to drop the scroll level back to L10, and keep the punishing gold cost.

If punishing mages isn't the idea, then just create another L10 scroll copy of the scroll in the same place or in Maelbrim.

Instead of changing the stone golem back to level 10, why not just let people buy it at level 10 and keep the scroll spell level at 20?

Level of the object is directly related to the power of the spell cast as well as which level you can buy it at.  I don't believe that it it can be done otherwise.  Well, currently.  A change to the code for a new shopkeeper variable would make this work.

I agree with the golem scroll. Huge blow to ranking an already difficult group of classes to rank.

I disagree.  I've never had a problem soloing any class to 50 with or without the current pets out there.  I've also never relied on any pets more than the Alsatian/Gorilla/Soldier progression.  It might be a blow to power ranking, but ranking in general, not so much.  Besides.  I like taking my time.  No need to rush.

Level of item != Level of spell of scrolls or staves. This is doable.

I'll look into it. Is this only when going in from the underdark or if from the shadow grove as well?

I've only tried from the Underdark. Never knew it was even changed until I saw this. I'll go check it out and see preciely where I found the entrance to the apparent "old" Xymmeria.
