Implementor Volgathras Posted May 28, 2015 Implementor Report Share Posted May 28, 2015 Welcome, to the Blissful Falls Sanitarium Retreat The Blissful Falls, a safe and secluded compound nestled in the shade of the Dragon's Teeth mountains. Hundreds of acres of land, sporting fantastic vistas of forests, mountains and gardens. Here at the Blissful Falls, we understand that life in Aabahran can be trying. Sometimes, it's all simply too much for us to handle on our own. The good news is, our facilities and highly-trained staff are here to help nurse you back to mental health. The history of the Falls is a short one, but in it's few short years we've seen great success in rehabilitating patients who suffer from mental breaks. Our veritable army of doctors and interns employ the latest methods in mental treatment. At the Falls, we feel that traditional systems have failed to service our needy population. And so, while things may appear unorthodox, you can rest assured that we have nothing but the best interest of our patients at heart - and the success rate to prove it! While under our care, patients will have access to comfortable living quarters, which we call the Apartments. Every room is equipped with safety measures to ensure the happiness and health of our charges while enrolled in our programs. We also offer a host of entertainment options, including a fully-stocked exercise yard to burn off all that pesky excess energy! Never too far away, our doctors and researchers spend their free time valiantly searching for a final cure to these maladies. Our research facilities are top of the line, and are headed by the best minds of our generation, like Tonry Tinybottom, the lauded scientist! And in the very heart of it all our great leader, Brustlof Vargo. It was his passion and vision that has made us the incomparable institute of healing and happiness we are today! So if you or one of your loved once has found this live just a little too much to bare, don't fret! Come on down to the Blissful Falls Sanitarium Retreat, and we'll take care of you. Because for us, Caring is the Cure!

The Professor
Suitable facilities and a capable staff are paramount in the rehabilitation of the Blissful Falls' inhabitants, so too is the safety of the Empire equally important - if not more so. Escaped patients have proven themselves a threat to the security of the Tri-cities, it is by official decree that Blissful Falls is hereby closed 'til further examination yields an acceptable measure of protocol. The current residents will be executed on sight, as well as any person currently employed at Blissful Falls and unwilling to submit to this decree. Your full corporation is appreciated - and expected. Thank you for your time.(Stamped with the Seal of the Tribunal)signed: Zoichan yeah, he probably wouldn't add the -thank you for your time- at the end. Evangelion
This had such a cool Bioshock type feel to it. Very impressive to convey that level of depth - kudos to the builder.
Implementor Volgathras Posted May 30, 2015 Author Implementor Report Share Posted May 30, 2015 I usually like to add a dev history and concept, but I posted it late and forgot. I'll post it now;The dalls is an idea I've had kicking around in my head for a while. I'm not a fan of the horror genre in general, but I do like psychological thrillers/drama quite a lot. At the risk of sounding like a self-absorbed jack-ass, I wanted this area to dxplore the nature of humanity when faced with terrible corcumstances. Murder, loss, rape, torture - these things happen everyday, and people react to them differently, some better than others. Worse, though, is how we treat these disenfranchised mosfortunate subsect of society, something I wanted to underline by having the players placed in the role of arbiter. All the information is available for players to decide who lives, who dies, who is punished, and who is forgoven. While we all will make these decisions based on our characters, it was designed hopefully to make you think about how we view, react, and ultimately judge those who have suffered from a mental break. The falls are separated in to three parts, with three different narrative styles. The Apartments are intended as a solo experience where players can learn about the lives and circumstances of the patients during the crisis. It gives a glumpse of what the falls must have been like before 'the collapse', and some examples of what might constitute insanity in Aabharan. The yard is a mid-range ranking area, but also gives some insight in to the human need for belonging and control even in the face of dystopian circumstances. These gangs vying for control represent aspects of learning to deal with tragedy; personal strength, faith in a higher power, and bargaining. Finally the Offices tell the final chapter of the story, so I can't go in to much detail. It is intended to be a punishing ofdeal for a group of fifties, and an experience that can change -significantly- if you complete the quests prior, which can include different rewards. In total, there are around 7 unique quests, dozens of rares, scores of competitive non-rare equipment, and enough backstory to fill a book. The deeper you go in to it, in all aspects, the more you'll be rewarded. Enjoy your time in the Blissful Falls Sanitarium Retreat!

Imoutgoodbye
Glad I'm not the only one who recognizes dystopia as an element of horror and not just science fiction. Also, sounds like wonderful usage of unheimlich to underscore the disenfranchised objects of society.
The Forsaken
Guys if you haven't been here, get a group to go through the offices. The puzzles are great, and the last boss (that I think is the last boss) is a FUN fight. Props Volg.
Implementor Volgathras Posted June 1, 2015 Author Implementor Report Share Posted June 1, 2015 If you mean Tonry, not even close. edit: and I wasn't gunna say, but finishing all apartment quests BEFORE going to the offices completely changes the experience. Mudder
Is it possible for a single character to go to the Offices and then finish the apartment quests and thus receive both experiences with one character? EDIT: By one I mean one playthrough, not soloing. Edited June 1, 2015 by Mudder

Listen carefully to the gatekeeper and keymaster (anyone get the reference?) and find the appropriate tome in the library (you can check books in that room).

Fool_Hardy
Is there something wrong with Blissful Falls, every time I visit, I find myself as a player and usually my character too, cackling like a lunatic. That place is infectious. Absolutely one of the best thought out areas ever, congrats to the builder.
