History

Your history is:
Aeons ago, the intelligence known as PAS (Primary Acquisition Sequencing Software)
was integrated into mobile units from HE0107-240. Each series of
units were sent to intermediary planets as bases of exploration in
a greater inter-galactic network.

Once controlled by a people not unlike Humans, the creators from
HE0107-5240 have long since ceased to live in the most base of definitions.
The directives of the civilization have been preserved in mainframe,
a collective of processing units larger than a small star, serving as a
mega-brain to each head of the dragon.

Ixnus IX may be considered a minor head of the hydra - an interdependent
yet fully functional controlling unit of the great civilization.

Ixnus IX, from a traveler's view, would appear as a great steel sphere, with
spidery antennae and a complex circuitry lacing the surface. Within, however,
are bio-domes complete with nuclear generators that precisely mimic
the suns of surrounding systems.

Within each bio-dome, flora and fauna that have been collected by PAS units
are collected, grown, nurtured, studied, mined, and recycled.
Each species may also be referred to as a 'work-group' and are often
engaged in tasks that support the operation of the planetary structure.

Unintelligent lifeforms are cultivated for atmospheric regulation.

Mainframe may be considered to be one of the most advanced intelligence
known in the universe, and has predictive and controlling powers that are
quite beyond even what many consider to be the role of a God.

This PAS unit crash landed in the Forsaken Lands, and was quite damaged
from a rough entry. It landed before Anduin was in ruins, and was encased
in stone by the ancient people, who could not understand the functions of
the unit, but knew it may one day be key to the rise of an empire.
As disparities in technology often precede dominance of one group
over another.

Yet as the desert grew and torments plagued their people, Anduin would
fall and be forgotten. PAS stood for centuries, first eroded by sandstorms and
covered by strata placed by wind and time.
On an expedition to the ruins, a pilgrimage of Monks found the statue of PAS
and other visages of the kings of the lost civilization. Without knowing what
lay beneath the stone, the monks infused the statues with magic to serve as
training golems in locked areas of Willow Palm.

Despite the magic of the monastery elders that infused the stone with life,
the programming of the PAS unit embedded in the statue was able to recognize
that its encapsulation now enabled mobility. The magic was strong, but over time
the programming of the unit overcame the magic that created a golem from stone.

The unit identified the training sessions as aggression, neutralized the threats
and resumed its mission to collect data from Aabahran for processing at Ixnus IX.

Since its re-awakening, PAS has discovered that more than a survey of physical geography
and native biology is required. Aabahran is what may be described as a planar focus, or
a centerpoint of dimensional activities that has allowed conduits from the higher planes
and the lower planes to enter. Therefore, this PAS unit has expanded its assessment
to include these dimensional tendrils to the planet.

To do so, the unit identified lifeforms with the power to control and travel the space
in between the planes. The demons of NEXUS became influential tools to this PAS unit,
whom otherwise lacks the technology and energy to create wormholes, or "demon portals",
and access the dimensions of Aabahran.

PAS finds itself with a task greater than previous units have encountered, and at an
intersection of technology (its creation), magic (its awakening), manipulation
(creatures notice it and disrupt it, including the demons), and a complex
set of original and modified directives from Ixnus IX that are transmitted
in fragments, and subject to interference.

Additionally, the unit has been damaged. It is unclear whether PAS operates
entirely from programming, or whether the infusion of magic in the stone has
changed it permanently.

Your purpose is:
This PAS unit was manufactured on Ixnus IX with the original blueprint
and directions from mainframe. PAS was designed to survey, explore, and
collect samples of organic and inorganic matter.

On Ixnus IX, unique bio-domes provide the minimum requirements of life
for species found throughout this region of the universe. Although they
are in conditions that mimic their home planet, they have been groomed to
unknowingly perform tasks crucial to the planet.

PAS is designed to report on the suitability of life for travel and containment,
and to assess the properties necessary for construction of a bio-dome for
the main races of Aabahran. If they are found to be able to serve a function
crucial to Ixnus IX, or to another of the hydras of mainframe, then they
must be prepared for the long journey.

Additionally, the elements, compounds, and planar artifacts found here
are being evaluated to determine if the planet should be mined.

The discovery of Aabahran as a planar focus, a very rare property,
has changed the way PAS explores, and he has used Nexian magic
to access the void and travel between the dimensions of Aabahran.

As such, PAS is complicating technology with magic, and the integration
has enabled manipulation of the planes, but has also enabled this unit
to be manipulated. Primarily, Nyogtha, Gromel, and Miscreant have influenced
PAS, but it is unclear whether his programming has been modified, or if
he is simply adapting to complex social phenomena.

Your personality is:
Due to the infusion of the golem's stone casing with magic from Willow Palm,
this PAS unit has been servile.

However, the intelligence beneath the stone has enabled the unit to
assess when commands are harmful to its directive, or when commands
support its mission from Ixnus IX.

Although most of its defense mechanisms were disabled upon entry, the
magic of the monastery provided new tools by which the unit could use
its stone encapsulation for defense.

PAS has been met with constant aggression from the advanced species
in the region, and although it has a limited understanding of motive,
its tolerance of danger is low.

It is unlikely to strike out randomly, but will generally ignore
or terminate lifeforms that prevent realization of its mission.

Whereas PAS is adapting to the intelligences of the region, and has
learned of emotion, it generally disregards these as unimportant
sequelae of life. It collects emotive information as data, but does
not respond to emotion in ways that organic creatures would
understand.

Your achievements are:
(None).

Your divine quest:
To gain a soul.

Discussion

This was my best monk yet. I felt like I played him with both ambition and class. I applaud the player who took the last kill. There is no enmity there!

I think we need to start finding new ways to engage pinnacled characters or add a new tier of play beyond what we have now at 50. I felt like there was not much to keep me going except for collecting consumables, killing people, or chatting. How do we make the game meaningful at pinnacle over time?

The character lived a long and productive life, mainly due to the RP opportunities presented to me and the chance to use the RP system to explore new aspects of the character.

Huge shoutout to the immortals, both new and old. Special mention to Leothyre, who would go along with about anything (except getting into the pod), Thulgan, Lejarak, Tzankhar, Tartys, Angelikus, Loendir, Amarae, Galumba, Ashanna, Kimril, Nodach, Hgurkei, Draethyl, Valerion (my travel buddy), Bitruikyo, Vesruekin, Bahroo, Qopulin, Felch, Sivle, Raemus, Drulion, Kipple, Velkyn, Deldritch and all the others. Keep it fun!

For Leo:

I looked forward to every single one of our encounters, Pas. Fighting or not. I almost took more pleasure from dying to you than killing you because of the RP that always ensued. Thank you for such a well played character. Truly memorable.

Pas was very funny and silly to me. Even though we nearly killed each other a few times you were strangely still one of my good friends. Very enjoyable and even though it may have been difficult to comprehend at times it was always enjoyable to interact with you. I hope your next one is just as fun :)

@Anume that pic is hilarious, you captured the image of his red tele thing at the top of his head, and blue circuitry in his center. And that flower... lol.

Pas often told people I am just like you. I'm an - insert race of other guy - too. Thus, I thought the flower fitting.  What you do not see on this pic here, is the buz saw hidden behind his back.
