muddmann
worked 10-6 last night. Got home and the temp was 27°c. Went outside and checked the unit, sure enough frozen line. So I turned everything off and waited a while.. turned it back on about 11 and it was working atleast I thought. So i went to lay down, working night shift so I'm sleeping during the day. I woke up at 4:30 covered in sweat, very grouchy and still exahusted. Checked the thermostat and it said OL. Fast forward through the next few hours and now I've learned its my blower motor/capacitor.. and now, I'm back at work.. woo
KRins
My friggin A/C compressor blew last week. It was upper 90s F, topping out at 103 one day in Memphis. It was... not glorious. I started a one room hurricane with like 4 box fans. I will pray for you. DEAR ICY LORDS OF THE NORTH! SEND FORTH YOUR CHILLY BREEZES OR EVEN A BRISK BUT CLEAR DAY! Fool_Hardy
motors are last to go bad, the capacitor on the board is the best suspect. New board approx. 275 US dollars 375 after the "service charge". That capacitor costs about 17 dollars, unless you are a contractor or know one, then it runs about 5 dollars. DO NOT let the service man "have" the old board when he brings a new one. He will buy a five dollar part and install your board at his next stop. <quote the voice of experience>
