Celerity
At work? Ask them. Trying to circumvent your company security will be noticed and cause trouble for you.

Naruthiron
You don't have to specify the game. Just say that you use it to connect to a server over a non-standard port. They likely blocked it as part of a range, anyway.
Imoutgoodbye
This game is not worth any damage it can cause to your personal life. Chalk it up as part of opportunity cost.
Cephirus
Depending on what your job entails, I think Naruthiron is on the right path. I would not say it is to play a game, try and be nondescript if possible. You may even be able to say that you access a server using port 1848 and ask if that person would be able to open it up for you.
