F-3000
Hi! I'm one of those returning loonies. I've had years of pause from the game. I thought that I had lost my tintin-files during a filesystem-breakup, but I had "an ancient" backup left. One part of my problem is, that my scripts utilize PHP, while I don't use PHP for scripting anymore. Another part is, that there's lots of things that are very simple to be done with PHP, while doing same with tintin is... well, a headache. So, before barfing loads and loads of code which I don't know how to translate from PHP to tintin, I'm asking, is there anyone who is familiar with both tintin and PHP, who also would be willing to assist me with learning more about tintin? I know one dude, but he is busy with his life and stuff I'd guess, so if you're reading this, I'm not trying to be rude or anything.
Immortal Zoichan Posted March 4, 2016 Immortal Report Share Posted March 4, 2016 F-3000...I remember that name. Welcome back. Sadly, I know nothing about it. There are some guys around here that do though, so hopefully they will stumble across this thread soon.

Manual Labour
I suggest zmud, it can do a LOT. I also know how to use it and could help you do all sorts of things with it.

F-3000
Damn google for throwing all the notifies into the spam folder. Thanks for the WBs. With the bad quality and amount of sleep lately, I'm not too sure about anything anymore, heh. Welcome back for you too. On 4.3.2016 at 9:53 PM, Manual Labour said: I suggest zmud, it can do a LOT. Meaning, that if I run into any trouble that can't be fixed without messing with the source (likely for me), there's no-one going to help. Those people familiar with tintin, keep eyes open, I'll be later posting here questions about how to get some things done.
Magick
Zmud is dead because Zugg released Cmud some years ago, 2007-2008 time frame. The catch here is Cmud hasn't been updated since 3.34 in 2011 when Zugg went back to work as Z/Cmud could no longer remain his main source of income. While both are still purchasable, I'm sure you can find a free copy of Zmud floating around somewhere. Maybe even one for Cmud too, but it's one reason we're in the predicament we're in. Cmud is still supported though, as is Zmud to a lesser extent. http://forums.zuggsoft.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=44 As of this posting, the last created thread was last week and it was answered in a timely fashion. The difference between the two is, well, better explained here: http://www.zuggsoft.com/page.php?p=cmud&file=cmud/compare.htm. Though I've been a long time user of Zmud, I've switched to Cmud. I have no idea if I can help you with your scripting but I can try if you decide to go with that client. I mean, the worst that can happen is that I'll laugh and tell you that's far beyond my abilities. Which is why I haven't posted until now and I didn't want to post a welcome back without addressing your main question. That being said, welcome back! I gave a serious thought to the z/CMUD (I actually installed CMUD), but one of the reasons I'm not too interested of switching, is that I have a relatively huge code-base crafted for tintin already (~92 kB for non-character-based files alone - not counting code for multi-windowing), which would be utter pain to translate over. Another reason is that tintin is platform-independent, meaning that it does not matter which OS I'm using, tintin just works. And I prefer to use linux. Just imagine how piss-off it would be when in the heat of a PK-situation you get a popup from antivirus (or the OS itself) asking whether we restart now or postpone. (Even though I'm planning to avoid PK with current PB size, due to the combination of skill and ping-difference (100 ms more compared to a player residing in US - a player with trigger-chasing can murder me to death, and all I can do is watch - been there, done that).) Plus I have the combined power of tintin and bash with linux. BUT, the hunger for GUI gnaws me greatly, as my first real MUD-client was Rapscallion. Although, once I get my current scripts working properly, I propably will be very happy with tintin.
F-3000
Here's first question regarding tintin: #chat message comms {%0}; Is it possible to send strings with colours by using #chat? I use #chat with multi-windowing, one of the windows is supposed to contain all the says, tells, gtells and so forth, so that it's easier for me to keep track of conversations. Currently I need to re-colour all the strings after sending them to the target window.
