Ex-D&Der
I watched this one dude play Gauntlet with the warrior of all things, and he just ruled. He RULED. He just walked his way through the whole thing and played endlessly on one quarter. I don't know how the *&$#! he did it. Best I ever did I think was level 12 or something. I remember it was all static until level 9. Defender was the SHIZZLE! I could never play it at all though. I was really bad. I found an on-line ROM of it recently, and I still suck at it. Missile Command was definitely cool too. We used to vacation in Ft. Lauderdale when I was a kid and we'd go these arcades like Games People Play on the strip full of teenagers and the really cool guys would play Missile Command. Asteroids was all about hunting the spaceships, but I could never do it. That was for the cool teenagers too. Galaga I was pretty good at. It was an okay game. But many years later I actually mastered Galaga 88. I had a master tutor me in the game, and I learned to finish it. It took many years of patience, and finding the right game, but I eventually became an arcade game master. It wasn't one of the original arcade games, however, but a sequel (although Galaga itself was something of a sequel to Galaxian, which sucked in comparison). FatMike
I've got a newer version of defender where the premise is still the same but it's so far advanced it's not funny. I love it, but can't get past a certain point.
Chayesh
The key to Galaga...stay out of the "Corners of Death" and always keep the double ship.
