kamikazi
Yep. No score sheet as I forgot to save one before I cabal left and dropped and sacrificed everything I had. Had good stuff, so there should be some nifty rares back in circulation (Enjoy). Had everything mastered. I mean everything. And 160 hours on him from which he was only cabbaled for 30. Thanks to everyone for being friends, I guess and thank you Knights (Especially Ashuga) for all the fun, but pointless fights. Pointless, cause everyone seems to be rolling power combos with the idea to be on top and no one is playing the underdog anymore(Not flame-baiting anyone, just my opinion). Well...Time for a long break. See ya'll in a few months.
Ithric
Oh come on now. Roll something new up. Plenty of combos to deal with those pesky avatars!
kamikazi
Yeah, but most of them would require a lot of time and RP to achieve, and they would only be revenge chars. I'm done rolling those. I'll take a break and come back when I come up with the next idiotic weak thing, but different from the usual power combo I might roll a gnome warrior next...who knows, haha
Implementor Erelei Posted July 23, 2016 Implementor Report Share Posted July 23, 2016 Fire giant warriors are not weak. They're very strong. I'd consider it a power combo myself.
kamikazi
When did I say fire giants were weak and that I don't play power combos myself?

kamikazi
Was talking in general. Seen anything different than a crusader, warrior, ranger, invoker, bard and now necros in a while? I don't think so. Only these classes are being played, because it is where the work from the coders has been going(Except for the invokers. Nothing done there, but they have always been kick ass). There has been hundreds of successful other classes with different races before...now, not so much. We rarely see clerics...what is to say about paladins, or healers...or thieves and ninjas...To be honest, I rolled a thief myself and got my ass handed to me all the time from all the blood thirsty full decked giants walking around. I rolled a battlemage...same thing. Deleted them both within a week. Why would I be different than all the rest and not go for a fire giant warrior? At least I decided to play a different lore than the ones everyone else picks, even though it sucks hard, compared to theirs. Morlhach has been having a beef with me for some time and it shows from each and everyone of his posts. Mebbe I deserve it, but it's kind of immature, to be trying to make me feel and look like the bad guy all the time. Well...what ever.
Trick
What was your lore?
tassinvegeta
Well I've played a few of those non-power combos recently. Get owned, suggest things on prayer. Usually get shot down. Play a better combo and easily do much better. Suggest things on prayer and usually get better feedback. Then occasionally see buffs to those underplayed combos much later which sometimes makes me want to play them again. This is normal. Maybe try something that won't put you at odds with those power combos for now?
kamikazi
I was a reaver fire giant mace master...What better odds than a fire giant in Reaver? Still I was neither able to dispel an ogre, nor did I deal more than a LACERATE to him with the call void, or my burning weapon...You would think he carries around +saves stuff...How in the world does he outmelees me for LACERATES and DISMEMBERS trough sanc and protection with a non vuln exotic weapon, and MANGLES me with frozen arrows, while my FLAMING ammuniton and FLAMING weapons deal LACERATES to him - A magic vuln race? And I am eating up bashes for full two rounds lag from him, while he flees right after my GIANT bash which is at a 103 proficiency? It does not feel right to have your noremove and cursed weapon both disarmed in a single round and the cursed one being stolen either. Are we breeding unstoppable machines, or something? I don't get it.
Kyzarius
Idk, i just helped a gnome bmg out, and invokers are all about. Ogre rangers leveling. Healer just pinned i saw. I admit though the knights seem to be seriously stacked. They get inducted and promoted very quickly compared to other cabals. Add in Avatar on top of cabal abilities. I can see how it seems unbalanced.
kamikazi
Tell me about it...It took three days for two others to get qclasses and T in their cabals and it took me a 100+ hours to get inducted to Nexus...It all seems balanced if you ask me, hahaha. I don't even want to begin imagining how long it would take me to roll a qrace/class wannabe, get my app approved, which usually takes a lot longer than it does for any other player, because of past offenses of mine...get him to 50 and in Nexus...400+ hours maybe? Hahaha
tassinvegeta
To those listening and adversed to what Kamikazi is frustrated about, he represents a portion of our playerbase that isn't as vocal. So it might be worthwhile to give his perspective some weight if we want to keep those players logging in and having fun.

Kyzarius
You know, i noticed your point about damage. Isnt that vuln negated with the q-race?
kamikazi
I don't think so. I don't think anything negates a race's vuln. There are items that lower the damage they receive, but nothing that completely negates it.

Kyzarius
either way. One huge disparity i have noticed since my return is the rate of advancement in cabals. Induction and promotion goes real fast in some while it is as if others are ran by absentee landlords. Knight just sticks out as a scapegoat for the faster upward movement because they have i believe 2 e's and an l. While being in direct contrast and vendetta against the slowest moving cabal. I would love to see all cabals move at the knight pace. The upward mobility is great, and feels rewarding. Now i personally havent had an issue with my own main character which isnt in knight or nexus. But i also bug the living fool out of the staff lol. I know others have had this issue though. Spending more hours at V than their entire chatacters life up to that point. In my opinion if the spot is open it should be filled asap.
kamikazi
Yeah, but the item is rot death...Hard to obtain and it does not allow you to wield a two handed weapon in one hand, or has that been changed? And we all know that the best weapons in game are all two handed. Also...the larger races have a better HP pool, deal more damage and are all around better melees. Kyzarius
Ive always been one to think warriors are hugely stacked in power. But then i run a solid mage char for a while and utterly vaporize 4 of 5 giant warriors. Very gear and consumable oriented class.

Ashuga
Kami, I posted that 2 hour fight log. You'll see you fled after one round lag twice as well. You'll also see that you outdamaged me most of the time when you were wielding two weapons. Were you enlarged for your bashes? Sidenote: took me over one month (maybe like 6-8 weeks) to get inducted, took me a long while to get T also. Not complaining though. Saves: yes, I have very good mental saves, look at my eq. Other sidenote: I've logged in vs 4 Nexians before, how is that not playing the underdog?
kamikazi
You should know I got nothing against you, dude. You are doing extremely well with your character. I got a beef with the game mechanics though that make no sense at all. I got a beef with stuff being nerfed straight away(Namely the beastmaster's behemoth and the shield lore), cause I've killed two, or three people on one of my characters and people beating the crap out of everyone with a visibly unbalanced lore and nothing being done about it. Not whining, or demanding anything, or trying to insult anyone. It's just the way it is. And it is a fact. I was really surprised that focused bash got a slight buff, without me writhing a two page post whining how useless it is. I am trying to limit my posts in total, since I tend to over react and insult people unintentionally. My posts, or suggestions have never made a change anyway...All they've ever done is earn me a ban and hate from the staff.
Zavero
Put yourself in their shoes... imagine being the one constantly questioned and attacked because something doesn't seemed balanced. Then trying to find ways to fix these issues so everyone is happy. I haven't played this mud in years and I come back to stupid soft. Training takes no time, ranking is insanely easy, and folks delete characters like crazy only to have a level 50 the next day. It appears to me that they are at least making an effort to change things for the better for players needs and desires. It seems you are attacking rather than being constructive. Nothing will get done.
kamikazi
I am grateful to the Imms for all the changes and improvements they are doing to the game. I have never even once actually wanted on purpose to insult them, or sound ungrateful, but I guess it has come out like that several times. After all they are investing their own free time to improve something that they gain nothing from and I understand that. I am truly sorry if I make them feel like they are wasting their time to improve something for someone like me, who in fact should just stop playing if he's not happy with something. My problem is that I sound demanding without intention. Guess my linguistic skills in English suck hard, since I cannot express what I actually feel. Put yourself in my shoes as well though...As I mentioned, changes have been made straight away when one of my characters is actually doing good (which does not happen often at all, cause I suck) and I have a good PK record (not saying that is the actual reason, since I don't know that...just feels like it) and in other cases, someone is totally destroying the entire Pbase and no action is taken at all. To sum it all up...I apologize if I have offended anyone...it was unintentional. You are all doing a great job and I am grateful for that.
