Dancing

I was just wondering if anyone else here likes to get their groove on like me. I.E., swing dancing. West coast, east coast, triple step, I know a little bit of them all, and it's a blast. Latin dancing is also way fun, though I only know cha-cha right now. I can waltz and foxtrot too. Waltz is good for impressing ladies and looking like a suave person. I went dancing a little while ago with a beautiful girl, had tons of fun. The only reason I know any of this, however, is becuase I got no rhythm or groove naturally, ah-haha.

Fiere I love you...

..::ahem:: anyway I LOVE swing dancing. (I'm actually the VP of our campus Swing society) Especially Lindy Hop and alot of Charleston combinations (they're really endless and fun, if exhausting). Balboa and Shag are also good to mess around with as far as swing goes. If you ever need any swing music just let me know. I have to supply music to the meetings so I have alot to choose from.

Swing dancing is great because there's always more to learn and the people who participate are usually really welcoming and understanding (unless you happen upon those groups who consider themselves 'elite'). If you end up getting really into it I'd suggest swinging to some non swing music because that can really improve your improvisation skills when it comes to breaks etc. You can end up coming up with your own unique moves (or versions of moves) and blah blah blah...

...I'm going to stop now, but yeah I'm a Lindy freak.

And yes Chayesh.. Lindy Hop FTW. :D

My most common form of dancing these days, is a widely recognized style. The famed, 'Drunken club-style' dance. Anything goes in DCS.

aw hell yea. im all about that one, I did some salsa dancing over the weekend, or what I considered salsa dancing at the time but hey I was drunk and having fun so it doesn't even matter. Go madison union terrace for showing awesome bands and $5 pitchers!

  • 2 weeks later...

I love dancehall. Thats what i get down to.... dancehall is like Sean Paul, Beenie Man, Elephant Man, Rhianna (sometimes), and a whole bunch of artists that you guys prolly never heard of. Then again... I am from the islands, so I do have that island flava in me. Dancehall is just so hype. The other music I get down to is "snap music" cuz i'm from the south (Florida... soon to be Georgia). I think snap music is pretty dumb lyrically, but i guess who cares about lyrics when you're just tryin to have a good time at the party? It's really a silly way of dancing but its just fun.
