General weapon knowledge

I'm new to FL but not new to MUDing, so I thought it might be a good idea to go ahead and read the helpfiles for all weapons and compile a list of how each compares in different aspects of battle. Of course, the lists don't factor in class differences (which classes can use which weapons) nor individual weapons. So think of this list as a guide to what weapon would be best if both characters were of the exact same rank, race, class, luck and were both naked except for practice weapons.

Offense: 1 being the most offensive; 10 being the least

1) Whips

2) Axes

3) Flails

4) Maces/Exotics (helpfile explicitly stated that these are equally offensive)

5) Polearms

6) Swords

7) Spears

Daggers

9) Staffs

Defense: 1 being the most defensive; 10 being the least

1) Staffs

2) Polearms

3) Swords/Spears (helpfile did NOT explicitly state which of the two was more defensive, just that both were more so than daggers)

4) Daggers

5) Maces/Exotics (helpfile explicitly stated that these are equally defensive)

6) Flails

7) Axes

Disarm: 1 being the easiest with which to disarm; 10 being the most difficult

Consider Hand to Hand in that list equals to exotic.

But unless you are a monk, it is not that linear. And you do not parry with it.

So you get the idea.

EDIT:

OK, i will spell it out. Viri wrote that hand to hand are exotics for that list purpose.

If they get gimped latter on some classes, that is another story.

And that list isnt gospell, for examples EXOTICS and Dragon MONKS are the best at disarming.

Just check warrior lores... its there for a thing.

I fought a berserker one time in a challenge, he we whipping me. As soon as he weapon cleaved me i hit him with like 5 mangles with my punces to end the challenge.
