Gaunticles
I'm currently trying my Lich again but I feel lost. Most classes I've played can successfully gearup to a point, for example with the right tactics and resources I could solo Tiamat for the leggings. I'm finding that such creatures like the Tiamat or like going for globe of major invulnerability is a uphill battle. I do not expect to get winter or high end area type quality gear but I would like a respectable defense that I don't get 1 rounded by someone. If any experts could let me know what I'm doing wrong I would appreciate it. It may be that this class like a lamborghini designed for only those skilled enough to take gear by force through relentless pk.
Magick
Globes for a level 50 shouldn't be that difficult to get solo for most characters. Tiamat is a bitch, though. At least you can flee and lock the door with that one. Game of attrition. To piggyback this: Actually, this is a very good question, not only for a particular class, but appropriate gear for different levels. For the newbie, what would constitute mid-level gear? Where could you find it? There's been a few questions asking about equipment, but no lists given anywhere as to what ballparks people can look for at certain levels. What would you consider basic gear for various levels character types? Some things transcend multiple categories such as the copper rings from the Hamlet and are good for pretty much every alignment and most (if not all) classes below level 30. What would constitute a basic set if you're: Good/Neutral/Evil: -Level 10 -Level 20 -Level 30 -Level 40 -Level 50 Mage/Hybrid/Melee Sure, you can break this down further into hit/dam or saves or AC equipment, but let us assume your basic "go to" gear if you were to be full looted at these levels. Your starter set, as it were.
Kyzarius
Gearing with a Lich is wrought with some challenges, most definitely. Stair Step your gathering key items like crustacean rings, cube of force, blue bracers, bracers of defense, faerie belt / belt of invokation, Eog, spider slippers, earrings of undeath etc. are easy to get and help you jump into slightly harder things Cabal outfit is your friend when recovering. Cabal gear is great, use it, replace it, stash it. Use the Arena too. Group. With Rathanous I had a network of allies. They can feed you things to help grow your "power" People will help you gear. Dont be ashamed of this. Bounties, set them, you are evil and should have no perclevities at profiting on someones death PK, you are a Lich, you fill your phylactery with the torn souls of the fallen. Kill some people. Your very class gives you justification to kill nearly anyone whose living. Go after casters. Don't just full loot, grab the rares you need, leave the rest. Keep in mind Q-classes/races are not win buttons. They come with challenging mechanics, hard coded RP enemies, well known vulns, you name it. Their power peak is high, but they come with a learning curve that can be challenging. So getting some help to get yourself to that cutting edge is not at all a bad thing.
