Brofessor
Done there. I had some good interactions, but the majority where characters mainly motivated to kill me solely based on improving armor. I had intended to do this days ago, but given I was allowed to apply I felt obligated to attempt to play the character. In the future I will listen to my gut. Too many incosistencies for me to care in the slightest about this character. Training made 0 difference. In what I would consider a moderately strong suit of armor (able to rage to 70 ish hit dam) I was frustrated through all pk. For me to win a fight the character I was fighting had to make every mistake possiblec and even raging I was lucky to land 2 attacks around dual wielding axes at 110% proficiency. I had fun with the characters I interacted with, but I couldn't suffer through skills never working (failing to drop anything even with haymaker mastered, and landing the actual haymaker, as well as headbutt missing, using weapon knowledge in axes vs mages to be outmeleed by a mage wielding a staff, to being crushed by a druid wearing a level 25 suit of armor) I just could not even make it past inductee. In one fight vs a ranger, while wielding a polearm, I did not land a single hit while they dual wielded whips. I also successfully defended (while I was not raged, or blind) 8 of 42 attacks. that is 102% parry, 100% polearm, 100% two handed, 300 ac, and 102% dodge. I know I am going to be told post logs in prayer, but I don't think there was enough advice in the forums to have made this character something I could play. Udder waste of time with this character. Implementor Erelei Posted August 31, 2016 Implementor Report Share Posted August 31, 2016 So, I've just looked at all your prayer posts. Clear to post, publicly, which ones we made you feel like "very, very stupid"? You can even go as far as screenshotting them and posting them here. If you won't do it, I'll be more than happy to make the prayer posts available for everyone to see. I don't like it when people lie about how we treat them in a public forum. Brofessor
When I brought up that a shield warrior was destroying my cleric you all didnt say I was very dumb for using a shield as a cleric to fight a minotaur shield warrior? Brofessor
I did, but his use of a shield made landing hits very difficult. Before shield lore was toned back down it was very, very powerful. I tried many things before posting. I apologize, it was said "a warrior is a master of weapons and shields, it is hogwash thinking he wont get past a shield. Use a two handed weapon." give or take a few words
Implementor Erelei Posted August 31, 2016 Implementor Report Share Posted August 31, 2016 @Brofessor Once again, overlooking your prayer post regarding changing a lore, nothing of the sort was said.

Implementor Erelei Posted August 31, 2016 Implementor Report Share Posted August 31, 2016 Quote: Erelei Don't let him charge you. 1. You're a drow, you can easily sneak around and prevent a charge. If you know he's spamming, simply wait on him to walk in on you. Spam something yourself, (like minister, or curse, or something else annoying). 2. Recall immediately if you know you have to flee and he can follow through to charge. Secondly, don't fight in 1 exit rooms - he only has to walk one direction to charge you, and it's over. 3. Being you're T now, temporal storm will be a god-send. Play with it to see how it'll help you. 4. Start wielding a two handed weapon, rather than a shield to fight a shield warrior. A warrior is the master of all weapons, as well as shields. Using one yourself and hoping he won't disarm it / get by it as a defense is hogwash. Lloth
If you take personal offense to the legitimately helpful answers you get when you ask for help, you should probably consider if competitive multiplayer games are your calling. I hate to post this as an immortal, but I think it is needed in this case. Lying about what is said to you in a private forum is bad enough. When you are confronted with the truth, and you don't even stick to your guns, but instead try to shift to how your feelings were hurt because the help was more situationally applicable than an old essay and an immortal who, while trying to help, is not nearly as good at either class, makes this whole scenario just infuriatingly pathetic. Grow. Up. I miss the days where tips were welcomed, not cried about. But it's not even about that, is it? It's about who gave you the tip, and your personal vendetta with yhem. Trying to paint him publicly as this horrible, abusive dude that makes you feel just so awful about asking questions. Which is just not true. You know it. I know it. Drop this little childish display and just be honest, at the very least with yourself, what this is about. I'll fact check if needed, because quite honestly I am sick of people that try to pull this crap. It really gets nobody anywhere. Considering how many times you've lied to try and take down Erelei in some fashion or another, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Brofessor
Also the resulting advice was taken, and the end result was the fastest death I had ever taken on said cleric. After that I decided that I wouldn't be posting logs because I was made to feel a certain way for following the readily available advice on the forums. I didn't attempt to take any immortals down, nor did I name anyone in my post. I simply said I was made to feel dumb for inquiring, to which I did, and that's that. The character was a flop, I was frustrated over time wasted. The advice I had been given on other characters resulted in being beaten even worse than when i followed initial advice, so I quit taking inquiries to the prayer forum. Kyzarius
You really should of stuck it out for V at least in WM. Quitting as an inductee, while you cant lose lives, is just wasteful man. WM would of really filled in the blanks and help you with the issues you had. Not to mention with players like bloog willing to help you train in PK you could of sharpened your skills. the_nightmare
Warmaster is really gimped in the beginning. I advice you to follow Kyzarius advice and wait at least V and see you will have easier time. I know that minotaurs are so hard to play, they get hit very much I dunno why. Pali
Berserkers are not a simple class, and in my experience they're one of the toughest to really play well - not many people manage to. They have a lot of weaknesses, and their power spike is very hard to maintain. No one should ever feel bad about not continuing a character they weren't enjoying. This not work, this is a game - if you aren't enjoying yourself with a character or combo, it is simply time to roll up something else.
Kyzarius
I would agree zerks are kind of a trap. They look so snazy on paper, all those skills as you read their files while leveling look awesome. but very hard to execute.
FatMike
Zerks......gotta love em, gotta hate em. I've had my ass handed to me so many times by so many different people on many different zerks I don't even play them anymore. But I love the class, they are just impossible for me and my style to play effectively(as are all other classes, the rest are less frustrating). I'd like to see someone roll one up and go to work with them, just because it's nice when a different type of character is doing well like a werebeast druid or psi. Not something you see everyday. Celerity
Somebody told you to use two handed as a cleric instead of a shield against a warrior? Unless something new has been added that helps a shield warrior bypass shield block, that is terrible advice. As for zerk (or any class) advice, we can't give meaningful advice without some good logs. I agree that zerks are tough to play. Even with the revamp, they are still a wildcard melee. Generally poor dps and dps reduction but with support skills that cause them to spike. So it becomes somewhat luck based. More importantly to me though is that zerks are difficult psychologically. You must take risks and you will lose some of them. This means your kill-death ratio will not be spectacular, even if you are an elite PKer. It also means you'll lose your gear and have a high cp drain over time. So a zerk player has to be able to brush off deaths and setbacks more than just about every other class. On the other hand, when you succeed with a zerk, you can't always be sure if it was luck or you. If you can rock the playerbase over a long period of time as a zerk, then you are pretty dang good and certainly way better than me.
mya
I'm with Celerity on this one. Warriors are fought with a shield. And holy hand or at least a 1h mace. Now if you are fighting Warmasters and you keep getting both your arms disarmed in the opening round, you suck it up and use a cursed 2handed staff or mace. Ideally it would be cursed mace + shield, but that's hard to get. Zerks ... what can one say about zerks. So much fun to play, and crash and burn in such new ways. I not long ago made a giant zerk, got like 10+ losses and no win, it was like 2004 all over again. But guess what, still itching to play another. They got to be like the most purely entertainingly class to play on FL. And the problem isn't in the mechanics, as Neguth whatever his name Ogre goodie zerk in warmasters showed us. It's just in the mentality of how to play the darned thing. You rage and boom, no more fleeing, and now you blinded tanking a Warlock while a DK rubs his greedy hands of happyness.
