Strange Steps in the Meadow
  A strange sight lies before you.  In the very middle of the meadow a set
of steps as wide as a royal road have been constructed out of materials
unknown to you.  Rising at a slight slope their surface gleams with a
strange sheen, and occasionally a strange hum or vibration invades its
surface.
