tassinvegeta
I was wondering, does assassinate go through counter now? I mean what are the odds of assasinate going through counter at 96% twice in a row as a standing fully awake warrior?
Unknown Brother
Warriors can't counter it.
Designated_Driver
Warriors can't counter it. You'd think so, wouldn't you. Allow me a few minutes to find my log of countering Fenner's assassination attempt as Grom.
Chayesh
Let's restate UB's post correctly... You can't counter a SUCCESSFUL assassination.
tassinvegeta
Now I'm a bit confused. So if its an unsuccessful assassination the warrior/paladin/monk will be able to counter it?
Deykari
Obviously, the assassination won't be successful if it's countered, will it? Thus, you cannot counter a successful assassination, because..it wouldn't be successful if you did counter it. Seriously though, I didn't know assassination could be countered. Unknown Brother
I thought that was implied.
tassinvegeta
I never thought it could go through counter, I guess that ninja was feeling very balsy that day.
WarriorCleric
Now I'm a bit confused. So if its an unsuccessful assassination the warrior/paladin/monk will be able to counter it? Correct. An unsuccessful assassinate still can do damage, it's just not a one hit kill, and that is what's countered. WC
Deykari
I see. Because when you fail an assassination, it basically just does an attack like you would with murder, right? Dey
ajwetton
Except when you murder you aren' lagged forever and a day.

Deykari
It's been a while for me, but I'm fairly certain it still says 'Ninja's assassinate MANGLES you!' WC I'm not as old as some people here, but for as long as I remember ninjas, a failed assassinate has always just been the same as a murder command, but with the assassinate lag. Teralis
It doesnt allways but alot of the time a failed assassinate will "your assassinate attempt Mangles so and so, and others it will just take you to combat, ive seen them both, I soppose it depends on how bad you missed? shrug
crackwilly21
I've never seen that happen, so I think its just murder with assassinate lag. But, I could be wrong.
Raargant
I see. Because when you fail an assassination, it basically just does an attack like you would with murder, right? Dey What Dey said. Regular murder, with assassination-length lag.
Khran
Regular murder' date=' with assassination-length lag.[/quote'] Which pretty much means if you fail against a decently dressed pk char...you are pretty much dead. ESPECIALLY if you did not sanc up/fly up before attempting
Deykari
If without sanctuary, yes. However, because you can't tell if someone has failed an assassination against you or not, what would be the first thing that pops through your head if you've been strangled without sanctuary, and now you've just been awoken with 'murder'? Unless you're a class like a decked zerk/warrior that could just lock the ninja into submission, you'd quite often probably end up fleeing to prepare before returning. You wouldn't know wether it's a failed assassination, or if they're murdering to get a quick caltraps in there. Dey
Khran
The majority of ninjas dont strangle and blind before assassinations. In fact, all the assassinations attempted/performed on my chars were all em standing up.
Deykari
Bah. I'm too afraid to try to assassinate without my foes being at least strangled, with a full study. Dey
