WarriorCleric
I now work at the universities residence halls and apartments as an IT support assistant. I sit in a little room, with a kid who likes to yabber away about his life(I can't understand a word he says, people say my diction isn't the best, but this guy has to put me to shame), and wait for outlook to say 'Hey, someone has a computer problem!' Then I read what the problem is, and remotely log into the computer and fix it. Today I reinstalled office, and I set up a computer. That was five hours of my day. I don't have excessive amounts, but I have a decent amount of experiance in many different fields of computers, I am hold four(soon five) certifications for repair and diagnostic, and what do they stick me on? Email Support. I read through the back reports of what has been done, 90% of the work done is reinstalling a program or drivers. The ticket I got today resulted in reinstalling office. I invested so much extra time into building a basis for work, and this is what I get. Had the most amazing job in the world, now I have this. Minimum wage too... five certifications and I'm making minimum wage. You know what the problem is? Online applications. I can't go into a store, ask to see a manager and wow him or her, they look at me like I'm an idiot and say 'Apply online.' And the online applications are all done through a third party service, so when I call up the prospective place of employement they say 'I'm sorry, we don't have your information, apply again in three months' or 'We got your information, but youre over qualified' Thats right, over quallified to sell music and books, what a ****ing joke. I can't even get a job at a grocery store in the area because 'With your experiance and diversity in grocery stores, you'd quallify for a manager position, but we don't have any openings' All I wanted was a basic stock job damn it. So, despite my being highered, I'm still looking for work. WC

I get 20% off the top of course but at 48 hours of working per week shouldnt be a problem. J/K But on subject sorry man that sucks. But I have been there living in this place ask Myrek this place sucks takes forever to get a job and its min to 7$ hr then it either sucks and you just have to quit or they have problems and they quit you. I have had such a hard time here its ludacris and most of it I had 2 young infants to support. Just look at it like this man it could allways be worse. WarriorCleric
Hard stuff? You'll have to be more specific. I have certifications with Dell(yawn) and IBM/Lenova, and soon to finish the final test with the 'everyone's got it so it's now useless' A+. I'm not looking for a full time job fixing corperate structures, I'm looking for a job fixing personal computers, which I had, but no longer. I am a student, going to school for majors other than computers, computers have been a way to give me money to get me through school, computers are entirely something extra for me to do. I took in copies of my certs for my new bosses today and they were clueless as to what they meant, or maybe it was clueless to what they should do. 'I brought in copies of my certifications for your records' 'Certifications for work?' 'Uh... yeah' 'You're an international student?' 'No, computer certifications.' 'Oh, no thanks.' How is that any way to run an IT department? The job ad asked for 'quallified, and motivated technicians', with a minor note at the end that 'knowledge of office is a plus' and that they offer 'competitive wages.' So wouldn't they want evidence that your technicians are quallified? Their ad was misleading, the vast majority of my work with office, their interview was misleading, the entire job is a joke. I'm not asking for a salary, I'm seeking payment that matches my experiance/qualifications. Teralis, heh, sounds great, hows the commute from buffalo? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy I have a job right now, but the job sucks. I know other people have it worse off then me. I think what people confuse my gripping about is looking for advice or answers, I'm not looking for answers or advice, I know what I have to do. This winter has been one down after another. I'll get by, I always do, sure 'When life gives you lemons, make some lemonade!' but I've just gotten sick of lemonade. WC

Balinor
True enough and I beleive Youngstown Ohio is only about three hours drive feom Buffalo. Lemonaide sucks. Hah! I actually got that one! Edit: Damnit! I thought about it, realized the quote that you were talking about, and then looked up and saw that WC had actually quoted it. I had just given myself some brownie points, too.
Sneak
Um' date=' I doubt it. Is this supposed to be some sort of lame attempt at an insult?[/quote'] You just posted it after a post with how u earned money on buying n selling domain names. Tom
I think he means buying a .com domain from another "domain pimp."

Then you post you got that domain with some friends - how else am I gonna understand it? A .com domain cost like 12$ a year. I posted how Bali would go about the process. And then I told him I had a .com. I never suggested it was worth anything. And if you want some crappy .com, sure it'll be $12 bucks a year. Even my vague one aachaeon.com was about $35 so step off please. Edit: And in case we're still both confused. No, Aachaeon not worth anything to anyone. Or no one's tried to buy it. WarriorCleric
I'm paying 8 bucks a year for my .ws, and near 9 a year for my .net. Shop around a bit, wait for specials. I believe www.gotapex.com's deals page usually has domain registration sales listed. WC

grannym4n
Enstead of designing earthquake resistant buildings, these guys just figured they'd anchor down the earth's crust instead.
Warpnow
if you want to buy domains, www.cleverdot.com is my favorite site... .com .org and .net for 7.77 a domain...and you can do bulk orders, but I am not the kind of guy to do the whole seling domain things. I believe in an internet with the free exchange of ideas, not a system of domineering for profit, which is why I support open source projects and linux groups over others. Nothing against people who do it, but I don't want to be the guy who owns the domain someone wants to use to start a really worthy website but can't because they can't afford it. Like, some guy actually owns Warpnow.com and is trying to sell it...
