I still have to use every trick in the book to avoid being just melted. I take 200 - 300 hp a round from some melee's. I have to admit, these thoughts definitely went through my mind while I was playing Vaelrasa. I routinely felt that something was off when I'd be juggling 12+ affects just to maintain parity with someone who could eat a dispel, just restore sanc and be ready to rock again. Even with a bmg's defenses I'd regularly eat 150+ damage a round in melee.
Kyzarius
the thing isnt fury by itself. Fury becomes the mainstay skill used. They dont bother dirting, why blind? They STILL nail you for 4 or more Decimates a round So you get hit for 120 a round, 200 a round. Without them having to bother blinding you, while they just spam an ability that shuts down your ability to cast. You have nice saves, but doesnt matter. You have what you thought was strong AC, and mastered defenses. Still though 120 - 200 a round. That is IF you are PERFECT. forget flight, dead. Protective shield drops, dead. Sanc drops, dead in 2 rounds.

Magick
Data mining with lots of testing fighting some ferals to see if I got the correct bit. I could still commune enough to stay in battle after one fury (80%) and would bug out at two (64%) to ensure that I could reliably escape. Wearing the worn leather sleeves, my cast rate for word/gate was near extremely reliable even with two fury stacks. This further confirmed the 80% reduction ([100+35]*.8*.8=86%). Unless I'm looking at the base chance for fury to land. Possible. Never claimed to be able to code. Considerably larger margin for error when doing it this way. Looking back through, it's entirely possible it's a 50% skill loss with an additional 10% loss per landing. That would put the gate/word chance at 75% with the sleeves and two landings. If it is this way (and it does seem likely), then I offer a retraction.

Celerity
Yeah, melee can get double rounds, but casters can get a full round's damage against a wimpy target.
f0xx
I've been resting my case with you for a long time now, Kyz. My characters have been hit by: 1) 600 damage from a hellstream. 2) 1200 damage from an opening necro round that didn't even include offensive spell. 3) 400 damage from psi spell, through sanc with VERY high saves. Most of those were against characters of yours too. But I guess melees are op with their 120-200 damage. Per round. Also, when you have a game mechanic that flees for you from the first hit in the round you take, without ANY lag penalty, overriding your own entered commands that lag you, and you still argue how stronk melees are.... I will be the one resting his case.
Kyzarius
The opening necro round is melee. 600 from hellstream, must of been an unsanced ogre. Give me any melee on an unsanced caster wielding their vuln and it's the same. The psi spell I can't go into.
f0xx
Thank you for enlightening me, I never noticed. Mages with offensive spells + melee op. Fix plz.

f0xx
Just because there are a lot of melees doesn't mean they do well. Actually, considering the amount of melees out there, very few of them do well compared to the amount of mages and how many of them do well. And I only get hurt when people lie and try to manipulate the public opinion Kyz, which you seem to be doing 90% of the time. Perhaps we need a "King of disinformation" too, for our Queen. mya
It was "Queen of missinformation" F0xx. "3) 400 damage from psi spell, through sanc with VERY high saves. Mmm Coffee
Restore mages 110 max parry. Make wimpy have a max of 25% health. Problems solved?
Lloth
This stops now. If you two can't behave like adults, I will put you in the timeout corner. So sick of logical, beneficial conversation being overshadowed by grown ass men acting like toddlers. F0xx, Kyzarius, and anyone else that feels like flaming, this is your warning. Discuss things reasonably and maturely, or I give you a week to cool off. Capiche?
f0xx
Eh... you need to follow your own advice and cool off yourself, imo.
Lloth
I think you mistake the weariness that comes with having to remind adults to behave every other day with anger. Treat people with respect, even when you disagree with them, plain and simple. I like that you guys are passionate about this game, but try not to let that passion boil over into vitriol over disagreements.
