sarcon
Something that has been on my mind lately is what people actually like doing. Do you actually like a challenge? or do you only like it when you can steamroll someone? I personally get the biggest rush when I'm worried for my life and someone is laying the smack down on me. That is the only way I can get better, adapt, change up armor, tactics and really dig deep to try and get the W. Lately I have been noticing a high volume of people logging off the moment they notice a worthy adversary. Yet, if there are those they can easily steamroll around they dig in their trenches and stick around. Don't get me wrong, sometimes there are toons that are just nasty and it's a serious uphill battle, but they can be beat, it's just figuring out how. Unless, do some people here feel that certain matchups are just a guaranteed loss and there is no point facing someone?
Fool_Hardy
remember play times differ between players so coincidences do occur. I prefer to stay but limit my playtime if I am just throwing lives away, more than two deaths is a sign I should take break.
Zavero
It seems like to me that there are a few players who play a ton of hours. Which, if you have the time and wish to then by all means. However, a byproduct of this is that other folks don't get time to log in, explore, gather equipment, recoup consumables, etc... Because they are in constant battle. Look at a recent post by Goruk on Shoutouts calling out Suldaim and Osyn for always being on. Perhaps they are tired of getting steamrolled though. I'll use Goruk as an example again, they had an uphill battle for a bit and I think the player even posted about his/her frustration but stuck with it and was rewarded. Not many stick with it though. Thats not even taking into consideration playtime and coincidence.
tassinvegeta
Why can't people enjoy both? People can be in different moods each time they login. Sometimes when log in I feel like; Working on my rp and notes Fighting a powerful well known enemy. If I just died or lost some eq I might want to gather items from mobs and dungeons or kill weaker players to get them. Some avoid players with trashy behavior and those they've complained about in the past. Avoiding the powerful and well known enemy if I'm not ready or if they're ALWAYS on, simply out of boredom. Some don't have the time to invest and don't want to get involved in long pk's or cabal warfare especially if it's against an aggressive player. I do this alot when I'm at work. Dk's, saders, qclass applicants etc can have different priorities at times. There can be a variety of reasons. So I really don't think theirs a single answer for this if that's what you're searching for.
Quicksilver
I don't enjoy steamrolls per say, but I do enjoy a fight that goes according to plan. Steamrolls are just really boring to me only because I gained very little pk experience, enjoyment, and likely I probably outgeared the person so I have very little to gain in equipment. Speaking honestly, I've been on the receiving end of steamrolls and it doesn't bother me so much (anymore). But it's about as unsavory for me to beat someone far too easily and have them throw a fit afterwards. Steamrolls are the kinds of fights I avoid more than the notoriously powerful pker (since I have a snowball's chance in hell of winning those lol). Granted steamrolling someone is rare for me since I consider myself below average in pking. Of course in a cabal fight, I'll do everything I can win to a fight regardless of an opponent (easy fight or not).

Imoutgoodbye
All of it. It's such a nice mix. I'm rarely on the winning end anymore, but I appreciate the effort people put in to make the game work on so many levels.
muddmann
You know, I use to be one of the people that freaked out about getting rolled.. hell i even freaked out when i just lost and not got rolled. But I have come to the realization, especially in the last few months, that the only way I get better, is to get beat... As Ellix, I would get beat, or die and literally as soon as I as fully healed I would be right back at someone, whoever it was.. Belderon was my favorite opponent and I never once beat him, but it was always fun cursing him or arguing with him.. the issue is that everyone has become so use to getting everything they want and everyone having it, because of games like WoW and so forth, that no one is willing to play a real game and deal with the consequences. Once I learned that everything is replaceable and that I do have 60 or so deaths, I began to enjoy the game sooo soo much more.
