sarcon
Hmm, looks like you only hit him like 5 times in total with your blades. He was able to avoid/dodge/parry all your blades and dancing weapon. When you combine that with being fury'd ya man, your pretty much screwed. When your fury'd you can't even sharp metal for extra damage. Next time I would just run for the hills or focus on disarming his second weapon, but again if he is out hitting you 10/2 not much you can do. Fyi, demons aren't really the best combo when all your fighting is melee's. If your going against clerics and paladins ya sure, demon all day. Ferals have a higher dex so your going to have a serious uphill battle against them or halflings. Link to comment
Tantangel
If it's still capable of being wielded, grab the iridescent shield and wear it instead. Fight around noon game time and you'll hit him with Sear with it. Fight in areas that are open so you can use it when you can. Fury lasts for about 2 ticks? So I'd say try and dance around in that time. Use a few scrolls to your advantage. There's two high level damage spell scrolls I know of that you could grab and use on him too. I don't believe it would be affected by fury either. There's a third high level scroll that has the potential of harming a person, but it's far too easily saved against in my experience. Isn't the Shark Maw a much heavier weapon to dance than that too? I'd say grab that one and hope for the best. Also, reflective shield? I'm not sure if the weapons he's using is causing mundane damage, but if it is, that will help you too. I'm not the best when it comes to advice for a BMG, but maybe that will get it started for you. Anonymous
So due to the fact that I am just getting drilled to start the fight causes me problems. I have my force shield on for a reason I do not wish to discuss in the open. He never fights me during the day and is always the one to surprise me. You must understand. I never see him unless HE wants to be seen. As soon as I was getting drilled and realize what was happenening and saw I was furried and couldnt land a spell it was time to run. I run into every trap while dirt kicked because I can see them. I wish I could change roles with people and they could see what I am talking about. I could have maybe openned with an age, yet instincts take over at this point. I was hoping to blind and get myself situated. The fact that it doesnt land with +3 spell level is just mind boggling in my eyes. Quote Anonymous poster hash: e1fe7...735 Link to comment

Anonymous
To thief.. use magical weapons, remove 2nd sheath for those thrown (preferably magical) daggers. Actually, I'm just reminding myself. I logged in, saw you, I was in rush - I had to quickly dispatch a attack + traps. It says you didn't defuse any traps, but you did. ( I didn't get message about that, but I guess that is how it works - lame ) Otherwise, don't stand there when things go south, retreat (well flee you pansy magis! jk) and try again. The blind lands quite often, but WM's have gear to remove many diseases etc every tick with somewhat good chance. Cabal consumables aid too. It is supposed to be harder to fight your opposing cabal than common bystander by the way. Savants have stuff to counter Warmaster stuff and opposite. -Rat Anonymous poster hash: 431ed...1f3 Link to comment
sarcon
Also, age is your most important spell, I would have opened with that puppy and did some stick and move tactics. You have slow, so you can sleep and gain like 200+ hp per tick if not more. Land age, flee.. reset, come back. Right now you did flash, flash, flash, flee, rust, flash, dispel, flee... then you pretty much were really hurt and needed to run. Next time try age, flee. Sleep a tick. Rust, flee, rust flee, rust flee sleep a tick. Then i would try for the flash/dispel/sharpmetal game. Link to comment
Manual Labour
You are fighting slowed, this makes you get hit more I am almost certain. Haste yourself when you fight and then cancel the haste when you want to catch ticks. If you need to run away try for a thunderclap, will make it harder for him to chase. You need to be patient as you can attrition him, dragging the fight out over time and areas can lead him to fight in daytime or somewhere he doesnt want to fight. Using shaman tactics in this way, make him think he has you dead so he over chases, catch those slowed ticks and turn the fight with a well timed sear. All that being said, it is a tough battle for you but not impossible. Don't let him stack fury, if he lands 2 I would dance around until its gone. Link to comment
Anonymous
So a few hours after this fight I fought him again. I tried to haste myself this time, still got drilled. I got away, tried to run and hide to rest as I was crippled. He found me killed me. I just dont have the time to land anything, and he puts traps everywhere. He is a great thief. He has great skills. I cant lie he is the only warmaster that just makes me want to smash my computer. You still smell bad......... He knows what I am talking about. I dont think I can beat him period. Just hits me to fast. Its not even hard. Its just alot. Stuns me with his starshard roughs me up dirt kick murder rounds. I flee hit a trap murder round. I spam directions. He is on me. Flee have daggers thrown at me. Recall he knows my home well. He just stomps me. Anonymous poster hash: e1fe7...735 Link to comment

Anonymous poster hash: e1fe7...735 I'm assuming it probably benefits you in some way to use that over reflective shield, but in the case that he does use mundane weapons, I'd assume that reflective shield is probably still your best bet unless he switches to magic weapons. You'd have more output that way too. If you're on and can't see him because he's hidden, make sure you're not keeping yourself in a very narrow corridor where there's only the very few exits as is. If he attacks your Cabal, sure you can use the guard as a means to be more defensive, but it looks like being on the defensive is what gets you hurt/killed here. Go for as offensive as you can so you're not completely screwed. I didn't catch you had slow up, but it would be good to remove it and go haste too. More attacks per round is a benefit. If you need to heal, then slow yourself. If you make him fight you by your Cabal, do so out in the forested area. Sure there's no Sear there, but it also means a lot more exits and less chances to hit a trap. I haven't played a Thief in a long time, but you have 3 exits, he can put up 2 needlers, and chances are he's going to put them both in one room. One leading to your Cabal and the other leading away from it. That way you're guaranteed to hit both if you go walk into the room. Don't play into that. If you don't use haste, that's fine, but don't slow yourself unless you absolutely need to, and don't go into battle with it up unless you haste to cancel it out. I'd say let him capture your standard and just meet him on his way back home. Catch him in the sands on his way to turn it in. If it's night time, he'll be caught with fleeing into tainted sands and such possibly. If you recall, do so when you're far enough away from your hometown that you can get out safely without him knowing where you're going so you can heal up completely if he's beating you too badly. You also can try out a teleport pill if need be, and there's also a quest item that you can get/make that will send you away, but it does cause some damage. There's also staves out there that help heal you too. There's another quest item that gives you level 60 spells of two heals, sanctuary and something else I believe (flesh armor?), and if you want more supposedly there's a way to get more if you want to too. There's two staves in the Mages Tower that grants you the ability to cure critical, not to mention the consumable in Elium. Fury is a pain in the ass and I honestly don't think it should land as easily as it seems to considering how successful it is. Definitely flee and run around until it wears off. If it just made it -spell level I'd be okay with it, but when it drops your ability to cast/commune effectively and makes it only successful to do so maybe 50-75% of the time, that wouldn't be too bad. You may try getting an ember then if you're not landing flashfire as a back up plan. I do know what you mean by just thinking about the different scenarios in my head and how it seems to be futile, but when I found myself coming across problems where I couldn't win, I began utilizing my scrolls/staves/wands. With the new wands in Elemental Canyon, a couple powerful scrolls to help you be more offensive, and a few staves/consumables to help heal you, it should give you a slight edge in gaining ground. I'm not an expert by any means, but maybe it'll help you out by trying that out. If you want to PM me, feel free to since I don't really talk to anyone outside of the game if you're worried about being revealed as who you play. Just don't give up on it though, it can be one of the most powerful race/class combos in the game, and once you get it down, you'll be set for some time. Link to comment

I'm assuming it probably benefits you in some way to use that over reflective shield The only thing I can think of as to why you'd have force field on over reflective field against a class that can't bash is meteor swarm. Not that it mattered in that particular encounter. If you didn't cast it due to the room you were in, I'm going to point you to the meteorite on your wrist. If my memory is right, reflective field will still do damage, it'll just be minimal if they're using magical weapons. Can't remember if you can "charge it up" with another casting of it. Thieves are going to be tougher against a bmg, or at least they were when I played them. Azantar constantly owned me. Of course I still suck at PK, so take from that what you will. Hit an antimagic trap and you'll feel it. Faerie fire. If it lands, he can't hide. Faerie fog staves. Might not do you any good, but at least you'll see him coming if he's glowing. I really do need to play another BMG. Been too long and HM doesn't count. Link to comment

Anonymous
I literally just fought him five minutes ago. I was absolutely annihilated. It was just ownage him vs me. I had a reflective shield up and got smashed. Flee murder round. flee murder round. Throws Dismembering through sanc. It was not pretty. With him being my number one foe. Heartbreaking to play. I lived but literally went from 1000 hp to 200hp in three rounds. I would love to see the fight from his perspective. Anonymous poster hash: e1fe7...735 Link to comment
Pali
Sit there spamming murder or sharp metal if they pull flee/murder. Don't use two round lag spells when he's doing that. Link to comment

Pali
The moment he dirts, run - you have two rounds (about 20% the duration of an ideal dirt kick) of him unable to follow, giving you a good head start. Link to comment
Zavero
He will always win as long as he dictates where your battles take place. Near your cabal is perfect for him. Link to comment
mya
- Get a the Savant lightsword and hold it. - Get a weapon with many procs like his and wield it, probably something like a whip. (You probably need to test this out.) - Haste yourself. - Get a stave of control and put a Lion Pride or a Mistress of magic sleeping inside your cabal. - When he comes charm the pet, enlarge, haste and open with age on your cabal step. - Follow with sharpmetal. - Don't forget to have multiple mirror images. Once the fight develops you might wish or not to revert back to a more defensive weapon, like a sword or a staff. You might wish to use corruption in your fights. Getting some sort of poison inducting gear is also good. Getting affect damage inducing gear like the Orb of ensnarement is good. Getting the Iridescent shield from the Tainted Valley is also usefull to allow you to sear in your doorstep, but the Warshield is good. I would trade the belt of Faerie fire for the belt at the Avalon end. You should keep him permanently bountied. I hate it, because it's asking others to give you a hand, but it's always stress inducing for your opponent. You might wish to test dancing a Fire Lance but I doubt it, since I'm having doubts about ferals still having a fire vuln. I favor the Volgue, but your dancer its on par. Get a bracer of summoning from Lockboxes, and bind it to you. Buy the RP necklace. Object 'bearing heart locket necklace !21226!' is type jewelry, material promethium. Extra flags: glow hum nodrop nolocate burnproof. Weight is 0, value is 1000, level is 50. Affects hitgain by 5. Affects managain by 5. Affects move by 5. Affects hp by 20. Affects mana by 30. Affects ac by -22. Affects savingspell by -8. Buy the restfull perk with RP points. HELP: Restful Body You sleep soundly, thus gain more health while resting and sleeping. HELP: Thickened Skin Your skin has become thick over the years, giving it an armory texture. HELP: Lucky Bastard Lady luck favors you, even against those who may be unseen. Link to comment
Chesta6384
Get the ancient sceptre with an emblem. always assume a thief is outside your cabal. buy the scroll of detect traps and delusion. dex plays part in his avoidance of flash fire. I would highly suggest the blood filled voulge over the soul blight. If he is evil, use protection evil. patience is key vs thieves. if you suspect him to be outside your cabal don't go and fight him where he wants u. if he won't fight you during daytime only go out in daytime. when you give into a thief just to fight him on his terms you are already in trouble. be patient , make him fight on your terms. don't spam spells after fury. don't let him get murder rounds in.
