Magick
You missed the cranberry sauce. Can't have Turkey Day without the cranberry sauce.
Kyzarius
my family is so a bit of an oddity.. . So My wife, mother in-law and I get back from the keys on thanksgiving day, when I will crash my sisters place for thanksgiving dinner. It will be an Italian spread though, no "traditional" foods at all.
FatMike
We sometimes do a lasagna, sometimes do a traditional, all depends on how we are feeling. Wife already bought the gigantic turkey this year though. No cranberries for me, ya'll can have them. I ate one straight out of the bog once and it was so nasty it turned me off since. Zavero
We always do traditional thanksgiving but sometimes we experiment with Chrismas.... You would be amazed at how some of my family members get butt hurt when we don't do tradition on both holidays. "You're ruining my entire childhood tradition! You've ruined my life!" Make them a little safe place in a corner somewhere, put some stuffed animals and a couple of pacifiers there and they will be okay after awhile. Zavero
Sound advice... Even if they are 40+ year old adults. Whiney asses.
Cephirus
Ahh, Italian spread. Let the manicotti, lasagna, and hopefully Spedini's flow! Happy Turkey day!
Fool_Hardy
When people comment that out thanksgiving dinner is not traditional, we laugh and reply "You do know its Deer season right?"

Haven't been deer hunting since I moved to the big city, kinda miss it....need to get back to the woods and sit in the cold and wet without seeing anything for a few hours to break me of my yearning. Vaerick
I have a lot of buddies, and even a couple family members who like to hunt. And I live in a huge hunting area (Texas). That said, I have never seen the appeal. I don't begrudge hunters who are hunting for food (I think trophy hunting is a pretty shitty thing to do though, like tigers and giraffes, etc), but meh, just not for me I suppose. I'd rather go buy a steak than wake up at 3 so I can go to a cold forest at 4 to go shoot some critter. Just don't run into this guy:
Cephirus
I agree with @Vaerick in regards to the trophy hunting. However, with hunting it stirs something inside, something primal that makes it enjoyable. We bring some beers and enjoy the day, it is less about getting a deer or two, more about the comradery and enjoying the activity.
Fool_Hardy
I have three counties of kin folk who love to hunt. Its against my nature to kill without need. My cousins on the other hand.... Well you can not blame a man for not turning down free back strap.
