Have you considered mixing it up, using a defensive primary like a sword and an offensive offhand like an axe?  I ask because a significant chunk of his output to you was melee attacks.  With two axes you are effectively relying on dodge as your main defense, as he is while transformed, but his dodge is a lot better than yours - he wasn't quite outmeleeing you, but he wasn't far from it, and his spells were more than enough to cover the difference.

The biggest reason you want an axe in your main hand is for the form. That form can hinder him in the long run. If you are not utilizing it from the very start, then you might as well go for another more defensive weapon, as Pali suggested.

Battles are not that simple - pick appropriate weapon and win. You will need to do more than that to defeat an opponent like Osyn. Keep in mind that he can heal as fast as a healer and if you both disengage at low HP, then it's better to duke it, for if you lose him for even just a couple of seconds, he will be as recovered as he desires.

Here is my advise - forget about manual dirting, go straight for the form and hope your melee blinds him. Try to get as many murder rounds in as possible. Don't stay in combat much. You stay while being way too low. This will be a hard battle, but so are all ogre battles against a competent mage. Try different weapons. Try for what Pali suggested. Mix axes with polearm. IMO, axes is the way to go, but Ssluthril is hardly a good choice, and my playstyle is different from yours, so it might not be the best choice for you. There are two pretty badass axes in the Asylum by the way.

The biggest advantage of your combo against Osyn is that you don't have a downtime like he does. And he has a HUGE downtime. Remember you don't have to fight him on his terms.

OK - The first thing to address here is that there is no 'silver bullet' win every fight trick here - you have to flex on the fly if you want to be able to play against the biggest and best FL has to offer.

Just because Axes is a good suggestion for one fight - doesn't mean it is a good suggestion for all of them.  Druids are a hybrid class with decent melee output and very high defence.  One of the biggest advantages you have as a warrior is that you can have weapon advantage over anybody you fight.

As an Ogre - Your Regen is also a huge part of your kit - you have a hard hitting vuln, that is balanced out by the fact that you regen faster.  Basically if you stand and fight - you are letting your Vuln work for your opponent, but not using the trade off.  This gimps you by nature.

I'm not going to lie - Temporal Storm messes up Ogres big time - so this is going to be a problem for you against 75% of Savants - but this is an example of when you didn't have it on you.  You need to make sure you take advantage of any opportunity you have when you are up against an opponent like Osyn.  

I would suggest trying polearm - maintaining dirt kick (tough against her -AC i know) and not lagging yourself to much.  You killed yourself by dirt kicking at 370 hp here - what does this tell you? It tells you that she can put out at least 400 hp in two rounds - this means you CAN'T stay in combat at 500 hps - and that doing so is basically killing yourself.  Learn from the death - as tough as it is when you are up against someone this buff there is always something to learn.  I'm not saying you would have won this one, but any fight you can survive against a tougher opponent is a WIN in my book - and gets you closer to be being able to get them.

Besides, keep in mind one thing.

Druids right now are stacked.

 

They have:

1. Sustainability that rivals healers.

2. Survivability that is unmatched.

3. Defenses that rival clerics.

5. Melee output that rivals warriors.

6. Spell output that rivals most mages.

7. Surprise element that rivals rogues.

8. Lagging abilities, albeit situational.

9. High AC that makes them nearly immune to lag attacks.

 

They basically have everything. So if a smart player utilizes one well, you can bet he is going to be a real pain in the ass to fight. So don't be surprised there. You are playing against a power combo played a very skilled player.

It's back and forth, I run and heal, she runs and heals. Icepick daggers aren't enough so again, if I get a half hour to do some eq getting without one or both of them around I will get better ice weapons and a new fire weapon for primary in case the shield gets changed up on me.

Have you tried using a whip in your first hand? 

The suggestion of using a sword is a good idea - its form is also quite high damage.

Learn when to run. There is no shame in running away and letting things come back around your way.

One of my biggest problems is I just don't know enough about eq to find/use a lot of stuff. I think for the T-giving holiday of being off 4 days I will log on one of my crappy mages and beg people to go exploring since no one will drag my sorry butt around on this toon. Which really doesn't help since I will be able to id stuff and know where it is but not be able to get back to it.....y'all should just take pity on me and drag Goruk around even though it's a pain to group with a Gladiator. At least I guess it is, very few people do at least. Ah well, I'll get there.

Fox pretty much nailed it, a Druid has a lot of tools at their disposal but at the same can have huge downtime depending on the situation. This is what you need to take advantage of. 

1.) Take advantage of their shield that's up, remember they have that puppy for like 24 hours, you throw in a savant who most likely reverses time, then that's up there for a long time. However, if they are doing more damage output with the shield hitting you than your doing with ice/fire weapon, then stick with whatever weapon set up does better. 

2.) If I am not mistaken druids can't stock up on potions anymore, thus they won't be able hold too many brew consumables like before, but they still can heal themselves to an extent so be weary of this. 

3.) Most Warriors will easily out-melee a druid, hence you'll notice in your log Osyn is fleeing a lot to heal, herb, reset. You have two options 1.) Stay on their butt and don't let them get to grass and heal (dirt kick) 2) take advantage of this yourself and sleep some ticks. 

4.) Any smart druid will be hasted, however, considering they are in Savant, keep an eye out for when they 'age' you, this will negate the haste if I'm not mistaken. 

5.) It was mentioned before, but don't manually dirt when you can auto-dirt, no need for the extra lag. Any smart player will notice your dirt and know they have two rounds to do whatever they want. 

6.) Also remember Hurricane is two rounds of lag for the Druid, always keep this in mind. 

7.) If they are not transformed, keep that secondary weapon disarmed, they might not realize it and you'll eat them up. 

8.) Savants are heavily reliant on 'reverse time', they will need to do this every 22 hours or so, try to remember when they disappear for a while, then leverage this time to get your standard back or get theirs.. or go searching for them! 

9.) Looks like your already doing it, but always switch around your double sheath and figure out which set up is doing more damage, don't always use this right away. Once Osyn is looking injured, BAM, pull out the more aggressive set up and you might get a few sneaky round she didn't expect.

Druids are not really meant to be Savants, thus it was mainly for RP purposes. So to help balance them out, Osyn loses dirt kick, warcry and had the choice of losing a few other things. She chose Temporal storm because truth be told it was making a big difference. Once she got temporal storm she killed 5 people in a few hours, a little OP in a druids hands.
