I don't have a horse in this race but a W540 is a pretty nice workstation laptop. I've worked with/on Lenovo laptops pretty exclusively for the last 4 years and they are beefy depending on the options that they have. I don't know this ones specs so I can't speak directly to it but the ones I have worked on are nice. Basically, if anyone is looking for a nice laptop this could be the one for you.....and let's talk about that codebase.....hint, hint, wink, wink, nudge nudge.

Well, I'll post the specs for those wondering:

This computer dual boots into Ubuntu 16.04 Desktop, or Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview (You can turn off the insider preview and go back to default windows 10 if you prefer). Windows has roughly 225GB, and Linux is at around 220GB. The rest is SWAP and Lenovo system partitions. Both windows and ubuntu are on logical partitions. The Windows license is legitimate as it came Windows 7 and a free upgrade to Windows 8.1, then to Windows 10. This also comes with Microsoft Office 2007 (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc).

Those of you that are technical experts out there -
12GB of installed RAM. 32GB maximum.
Active Matrix TFT Color LCD Screen
16:9 Screen Ratio with Full HD Backlit Technology
Default resolution at 1920 x 1080 with an NVIDIA graphics card.
Quadro K100M, HD 4600 Graphics Memory up to 2GB.
4 USB ports, 2 high speed.
Bluetooth capable, and wireless.
Fingerprint Reader.
I will also include the AC Adapter it came with. The battery's health is still in its prime, and runs roughly 4 hours at high performance without needing a charge.

I bought this laptop new for $1599.99.
