f0xx
PS. We used to have a meme thread.... what happened to it?
Magick
The last post was on December 31, 2015 and so it's been auto-closed and archived. http://theforsakenlands.com/community/index.php?/topic/32757-the-fl-memes

When I realized I just ate thanksgiving dinner last night.... How time flies.
f0xx
@Magick, you're a beast. I couldn't find it with the search function myself. I find it strange that the meme thread, that is 1 year old, and quite funny, gets archived, but the bounty thread, which just got resurrected, is 5 years old and still active
Magick
Had to manually search for it. Page by page in the OOC forum. And yes, I too find that strange. there's bound to be some criteria that auto-archives things. Could be simply that that thread was started on this incarnation of the forums, and so would get flagged to be archived where as the bounty thread was from the previous incarnation of the forums. f0xx
It would be nice to have some IMM opinion here for the two questions: 1) Why the thread got archived (and what's the criteria to archive a thread?) 2) Why doesn't the search function find it? @Erelei? Implementor Erelei Posted November 25, 2016 Implementor Report Share Posted November 25, 2016 There's criteria for archival. The meme got archived probably due to no posts for awhile, while the other one had constant posts so it didn't get archived.

That thread got archived. The last post (before sarcon's) in the bounty thread was 5 years ago. The thread was not archived. How is a thread that's idle for 5 years considered active while one that is idle for 1 year considered inactive? I don't understand....
Implementor Erelei Posted November 26, 2016 Implementor Report Share Posted November 26, 2016 It's an automatic process? I didn't do this manually. Why is it a big deal? I can just unarchive it. If you're worried about the necessity of it: we have space limits. Archiving compresses the threads and backs them up and use less space. This is to save us all money. Kyzarius
Wasn't there something a while back about threads with lots of embedded images being an issue?
f0xx
I am not really worried, just curious. What you said about limit and what kyz said about images makes perfect sense though.
Magick
I'm curious. As the search function seems to gloss over archived threads, is there any way we could change that without removing the archives/archive process entirely?
Implementor Erelei Posted November 27, 2016 Implementor Report Share Posted November 27, 2016 Since it's a big deal for everyone, I'll just post here what the conditions are:
