sarcon
What is your definition of fun? I don't think we've actually broken this down before. Do you want to dominate the player base? Do you want to RP with other players and feel appreciated? Do you want to explore other people's RP to indulge in their creativity? Do you want to interact with the immortals? Do you want to express yourself via journals and get positive feedback? Do you want to PK and prove your capable of outsmarting someone? Do you enjoy not knowing what will happen? Do you like the thrill of challenging yourself? Do you want to escape your real life and stay emerged in everything? Do you want to mean something? I'm trying to get everyone's feedback because essentially it will affect the player base. One person's idea of fun can completely negate someone else. We are all human beings and this game does something, the question is what. Then we need to figure out how to compliment each other at the same time. Someone might loot a corpse because they need armor, while someone else might loot because they want to weaken their enemy. That is fear and respect. Yet, if you don't have someone who is determined, this will deflate people and hinder them from playing. So then what do you do? What is the best practice? Me personally I love and respect failing. The more I fail the better I become. The question is.. how do we remedy this? I almost feel that we need to have more categories just like we have Ruthless, moderate and hardcore. If we can somehow break people's playing habits even further, maybe so many people won't get discouraged. Perhaps we need some sort of RP tag, where this indicates they are not really for Pk'ing. Yet that might already be moderate. Then we need to have some sort of Savage flag, where we all know that person is down for whatever. Maybe even a quest flag, people that only want to explore quest.. again I don't know. But the better we can define someone's playing style, the better we can adapt and not make others feel dismissed or shitty after an interaction. I'm probably just rambling here but I actually care. Fox told me once that always having a character on all the time discourages other people from playing, so now I've tried to limit my playing time for my toons to help the player base. That might mean rolling multiple toons or actually reducing how much I play, which is hard because I like playing. But, thats what we call discipline for the greater good. The better I understand what people would consider as fun, the better I can adjust and align myself with the community. This is something we all can do. So, what do you consider fun? Kyzarius
Always a good idea to have a few alts. When I played my one character to much I actually ended up in a huge debate with the imms. So I broke it down, rolled an alt, and helped some of my enemies build up. Gave them some room to breath. Makes killing folks much more fun when they have been bolstered and given a fighting chance. Flushed out my rp a lot because I learned more about different characters. Rewarding all around imo.

I just feel shit OOC for having to kill them.

True but there is something to hearing about how much of a terror your alt is. lol.

Fool_Hardy
I want those I interact with not to envision a player playing a character but actually feel they are interacting with whatever I am role playing. Winning and losing are secondary to trying to make you believe I really am an elven archer, or a faerie bard.

It just literally copulates me up to play good / bad guy after each other. Part of me wants to break the RP and NOT kill the guy. Insignificant part of me (that always wins in the end) will go after the one. Terror of a alt? Nothing like emptying the whole PK-range by logging in. Oh wait, that sucks ass. I don't enjoy it. Plz love me.
