I don't wanna say you are lying, but you are hugely twisting facts.

Most of the time it was Kelmi alone against you and Suldaim.

Also if you consider 90% of the time sitting camoed and 10% actual retrieving standard as "active cabal warfare", then I got nothing more to add really.

Now you are talking smack. Kelmi against me and Suldain? Give me a break. Kelmi killed suldaim a million times. Everytime Suldaim went to get the standard or try to fight the Titan he died. That is not me and Suldaim against Kelmi. That is suldaim crying over the CB chats how he got destroyed in three rounds. Me and Kelmi's interactions, were what? I turn into a tree, I get the standard, almost die to his anti-magic traps? Is this a joke? Are you serious? Your joking right Foxx? This is like a joke? Your just messing with me right? This isn't actually serious right now is it? Where are the camera's? Am I being punked right now?

I just got T like.. yesterday, 266 RP and over 100 hours played in watcher (I don't stay logged in if there is not something to actively do). Had been V since level... 40? - which makes it almost 2 months. Positive k/d/r, active in cabal warfare - even if I can't make a whole lot of headway.

Never once have I brought it up before now, because I have only had the character for 2 and a half months, and my character is already something of an exception. We have that in common. I know that even now, I would think I would need more time and impact for T, if we are to be fair. Maybe it's because watcher is struggling, maybe it's because Treebeard likes my RP. Don't know, don't care, not my business.

Point being - you got T a whole lot faster, and in less hours, than any caballed character I have ever had (record breaking speed this go-round. My last T was....4 months/300 hours, which is about the norm across my caballed characters.

Now, I am not saying you didn't deserve it. Don't mistake my point with trying to tear you down. All I am saying is, you got there really quick, and to chase that next step even quicker? There are characters that live and die over 6 months or more, with great RP, that never reach that E promo. I think you'd enjoy the game more if you stopped seeing promos as checkpoints to measure success, or as some kind of barter with your cabal imm for services rendered.

You clearly weren't struggling for a foothold and needing E to fend off your enemies. So why not just play the character, and if you get E, you get it. Putting promotions on a pedestal is a recipe for heartbreak and frustration.

You are missing the 'WAR' factor in this. If we sit here and talk about CABAL WARFARE, then everything changes. Cabal's are at War. The major point in any war, is soldiers. In WAR you get promoted based on your SKILL in war. Period. Show me one army, or battle in history that rewards the people that are just picking up the dead and singing songs? Or the people carrying the equipment? or the people putting their best dam effort forward yet they die in day 1. Or the people that are fantastic at writing poetry and war songs. I'm not trying to say that this is ONE dimensional by any means, there still needs to be a combination of PK, Effort, RP and Consistency.

You have to be willing to go the extra mile, stay on when the odds are against you and endure when all hell fails. Again and again and again.  If this is a battle of the Heralds, then yes, your right, whoever has the best quill will win, but WAR between cabals can and will alter many things. If your pushing your enemy's back and consistently doing your war duties, your promotion will come a lot faster vs someone who isn't. Now, granted if all you are doing is kicking ass and laying back on the grass saying I need this and I need that, no, I don't agree with that. But if your able to truly balance out all 4 factors PRCC (PK, RP, Consistency, Change).. then your doing something right and need to be rewarded quicker.

You also have to take into HUGE consideration, the status of the cabal when you join. If you join a cabal and there are Elders, Trusted and people already holding the fort and have made a name for themselves, that is UPHILL battle, it's going to take a lot longer. You need to do double the effort to even be noticed. But, if you are one of the first, and not only making a wave vs a ripple, that changes the dynamics, the rewards will come sooner and should. Now, I really don't want to turn this into of what you did vs I did scenario, because who am I to degrade your efforts.. but please by no means compare the two. I loved your character had some awesome interactions, but they can't be compared by any means. You are your character and I was mine, to eaches own. If we wanted to separate factors then perhaps we can compare but there are too many variables for that. Your toon is still around, mine is ashes and dust, this thread had nothing to do with the differences, merely my opinion on Cabal Warfare advancement.

And this is why nothing gets agreed upon around here. Every one has to be at each others throat. And there is that select few that just can't keep their snarky irritating foolish immature comments to themselves and it creates a god damn bombshell for a bunch of 12 year olds to cry back and forth. All of you just shut up and play the game. That is what it is here for. You don't like it GTFO. Seriously. Act like adults.

I.. uh... joined when we had one E, nobody else, and fight cabal wars all day? I'm actually stuck in a spot where I can't RP because my playtimes are getting snuffed out where I am either 1v2 cabal warfare (only been tagged by you guys once or twice - didn't die, don't care - just means that I don't have cabal powers at all fighting whichever trusted is gonna be fighting me). I have several journals, bits of character progression, and 2 world quests that I cannot keep up with because all I am doing is fighting cabal warfare. Please do not lecture me on my cabal warfare involvement.

My understanding of cabals:

a ) Everyone gets to V for free (You can also experience quick promotion between I-M-V for good rp and/or pk)

b ) Most everyone will make T with minimal effort (the time it takes varies greatly on many variables that have been mentioned in this thread)

c ) Few people make Elder and even fewer Leader, these positions are reserved for long lived characters that prove good RP and PK over time.

I also don't think Imms care as much about hours logged as they do about calendar lives of characters. There is nothing wrong with a flurry of a toon, believe me, 99% of my chars have been flashes in the pan. This is probably why I have had so many T's and only one E/L.

Even though I also play short lived intense characters like you Sarcon, I don't think anyone should get E or L quickly regardless of the cabal circumstances.

I take flaming others (and the rule-breaking in the hidden posts) very seriously. My use of hilarious and modern memes is done to lessen the harsh feelings that can come from banning two people. I am actually quite annoyed and severely disappointed.

Bane-kitty is too cute.  I just found my neighbor's cat in the hallway and woke him up about it, and his cat has very similar coloration to the one in the pic. :)

It's easy to identify too much with our characters, and what happens in game, and let that spill over into the forums.  To be perfectly honest, this is part of why I recommended a more moderate schedule of playing; something you spend three or four hours every two-three days on is a lot harder to get frustrated about than something you're spending 6-8 hours a day on.  There's great value to be found in a player who can spend that amount of time in game, because if nothing else it guarantees yet another character who is online and helping keep the game feeling alive, but I find it hard to believe that putting that level of investment into FL doesn't come at a cost to the player doing it.

@sarcon: take whatever break you feel you need to.  It's a game: if you're not having fun, don't play.  If you're not having ENOUGH fun, don't play.  When the itch returns, we'll be happy to see you again.
