f0xx
Who here uses Chrome? Today they rolled out Version 55.0.2883.87 m and made their disgusting "Material Design" mandatory, meaning it can't be disabled anymore. I am digging through forums but haven't found a way to disable it yet. Does anyone know if it can be disabled at all? What do you think about it (about the design itself and about not being able to disable it)?
Kyzarius
why do you dislike it?

Implementor Erelei Posted December 15, 2016 Implementor Report Share Posted December 15, 2016 Works for me to turn it off and on, in chrome://flags. I've got the newest version, and using a mac.
f0xx
@Erelei are you really sure that works for you? That's exactly the workaround I used in the old version too, and it no longer works, since that flag address takes you to something else and the "Material design in the browser's top chrome" does not exist anymore. f0xx
Quote why do you dislike it? The address bar is super small and hard to read. The home icon is not a solid icon and just a line on the border of it. There's an annoying effect like a drop falling into a water and creating a wave when you click on anything on the bar. The favourites star is not yellow but blue now. So, it's 1) not functional and 2) it's a change for the sake of change.
