Rangers are always tough for Druids, but your really giving it to me at times and I need to be careful. Well done. There was A LOT of running around so I tried my best to edit out all the noise. <988hp 715m 374mv> The Southern Commons This is one of the places which has been rebuilt last in the Maelbrim reconstruction effort. The southern commons look almost like a small park: a round, cobbled space in the middle is framed by rows of planted flowers and groomed bushes, all spiralling out from the central space in a beautiful pattern. Young trees stand like sentinels at the outer rim of the plaza, once these are grown their branches will provide shade to those enjoying the miniature park in the future. A couple of benches are placed in strategic positions, allowing people to rest while watching either the plants or the business being conducted in the central of the square. A small plume of smoke can be seen to the east, deriving from the Demesne of Fire. The area seems covered in foliage. Still, it sees rough sorts who head through here to get to the Milieu, which is to the northeast of this position. Academy students and researchers can also often be found in this area, as the Academy is in the district to the south of here. The Garden Path Laid between the inner and outer gates, the garden path runs from the north end of the city to the east side. In truth, it is a killing ground, a wide berth that besiegers must cross if they breach the outer walls. In practicality however, it is a quiet walkway, a place that offers the security of the walls, but without the hustle and bustle of the city itself. The path is a dirt one, and it is lined with all sorts of plants, ranging from great trees to beautiful flowers and pruned bushes. It is a peaceful place, but not altogether private as there are those who may watch the path from the battlements of either wall. This section of the path heads east and exits between the Aabahran gates to the west. It stands on the edge of the ever-encroaching demonic armies, holding out for all Aabahran against an abysmal fate. Chaos has traditionally stormed from that direction and the area is justifiably fortified. The gate is of expert design, combining the legendary Knight experience with equally renown dwarven engineering. The battlements are shielded against flying enemies and the gate itself is massive. Runes of protection and more artistically-minded etchings have been worked into the heavy stone, speaking of the care and time put into this structure. The northern road heads towards the outer gate whereas the Northern Commons lies to the south. [Exits: north south] <35hp 374m 312mv> The Northern Commons The center of the northern half of Maelbrim, the Northern Commons is a distribution point for food to the locals and a meeting place of less formality than the Forum. Set with limestone, the foundations of this area are firm and elegant. Wide enough to support machines of war or a line of defenders, the tactical and logistic value of this part of town was not ignored. The battlements of the massive Aabahran Gate are to the north of here. To the southwest is the Milieu. The Temple of Darkness is to the northwest. The Temple of Compassion is to the northeast of here. To the south lies the Forum, the center of Maelbrim. [Exits: north east south west] An effigy of Zoichan hangs from it's neck in the square. A large marble fountain carved into the shape of dolphins shoots water into the air. <35hp 374m 310mv> Crater Way This street, leading from the Forum to the south to the Northern Commons to the north, has been named to remind people of the catastrophe that destroyed Rheydin, Maelbrims' predecessor. Even though the crater, that was all that remained of the Central Commons has long been filled and the streets leading there rebuilt, the huge hole has burned itself into the city's memory. The street leading north, ultimately to the Nexus Fortress, has been chosen to remind the populace who caused the explosion that took out a large chunk of the city. When I saw your aura drop I knew it was my chance to capitalise, unfortunately I had no sanc either so it went to the wire. You came back and got me in Val Miran though Well played. Ulmusdorn Posted February 2, 2017 Report Share Posted February 2, 2017 Gorbruk remember: - Druids don't get blind fighting, you need to keep him blind always. - Sometimes its better to wait for a tick to pass then to dirt and have to dirt again in 2 rounds (a long way of saying check your timing) This is my gift to you: Studded wooden shields from Tarandue They are almost as heavy as the warpainted, non-rare (you can stick 50 in a bag) and throw them to your hearts content without worrying about picking them up unless you have time. They are also really cheap. So just go buy some more when you're running low. I have seen in the dim dark past people use macro's for: 'get shield bag' 'throw shield' Link to comment
