Reserved

@sarcon this is correct. If you can give us a list of where you get these, (short_desc of the item is fine, and location) and we can move in trying to fill in those place holders.

If a spell was removed that was previously part of the game, this can also default to reserved, too. Our goal is to make sure you don't ever see the spell 'reserved', unless it's the 2nd, 3rd, etc spell from a scroll, for instance.

Level 35 spells of: 'stone skin' 'armor' 'shield' 'reserved'.

Object 'scroll rejuvenation' is type scroll, material paper. [Maelbrim - maybe another location, too]
Extra flags: none.
Weight is 0.1, value is 8000, level is 10.
Level 15 spells of: 'refresh' 'cure critical' 'bless' 'reserved'.

Object 'scroll enchant weapon enchantment' is type scroll, material paper. [Maelbrim]
Extra flags: hum.
Weight is 0.1, value is 5500, level is 20.
Level 30 spells of: 'enchant weapon' 'reserved' 'reserved' 'reserved'.

Object 'potion fly flight' is type potion, material magic. [Val Miran/Maelbrim?]
Extra flags: none.

Level 0 spells of: 'fly' 'reserved' 'reserved'.

Object 'potion ancients' is type potion, material liquid.

Extra flags: none.
Weight is 0, value is 3500, level is 1.
Level 30 spells of: 'word of recall' 'shield' 'reserved' 'reserved'.

Object 'potion fly flight' is type potion, material magic. [Illithid Hive]
Extra flags: none.
Weight is 0, value is 2500, level is 5.
Level 0 spells of: 'fly' 'reserved' 'reserved'.

Object 'misted pond water' is type potion, material unknown.
Extra flags: glow nonmetal nolocate burnproof.
Weight is 1, value is 5, level is 40.
Level 40 spells of: 'psychic healing' 'reserved' 'reserved'.
Rare item.

Object 'scroll giant strength' is type scroll, material scroll. [Hamlet]
Extra flags: magic nonmetal.
Weight is 0, value is 250, level is 5.
Level 20 spells of: 'giant strength' 'reserved' 'reserved' 'reserved'.

You have a feeling only a Knight can use it. [Possibly the rest of the cabals, too.]

Some of my info might be out dated, though.

Isnt this a remnant of the ability to make scrolls/staves/wands? Scribe, carve, whittle I believe.

I know on another mud I played with the same code base that you could make scrolls/wands/staves if you were certain classes.   You could put up to 4 things on a scroll with increasing chance of failure.  If a scroll didn't have 4 things on it the empty slots read as reserved.

4 hours ago, Lloth said:

Reserved spells are for future additions. As to brewing reserved potions... Nobody ever said that all druid potions would be useful. Some are even harmful.

What does this have to do about druids? I never mentioned anything about brewing. I was just talking about scrolls and potions I've identified and the occasional herb.

Read Fool_hardy's post.

Well, it would help if I could read eh? Didn't even see that. Now that you mention it, yes, I think I've brewed some herbs and got that reserved affect too. I found it mostly on herbs, but yes, Lloth has a point. There are potions you can brew that poison you, or fury you, it's actually pretty funny when you quaff them and get derped.
