I think I'm slowly starting to learn my lesson not to mess with Psion's. Especially these dream psion's. Good lord.. It seemed like every single spell I had was easily dispelled, the first bout I got put to sleep cause right when viruthx came to reinitiate my herbal brew had just wore off so he did sleep me, then I went into hiding after recalling and regathered myself and my wits. Before I engaged him again, I wasn't flying cause I don't think him or his ecto trip, but I did notice that stone skin, sanctuary, detect, and many other spells can be easily dispelled by him apparently. I know you are dual wielding a sabre + cleaver from the log, but your number of attacks seems quite poor. Training issue? It could be masochism redirecting some of your attacks, but I don't remember the mechanics behind it. You parry some ectoplasm solid's attack. Viruthx has quite a few wounds. No bow? Mental saves would be nice...but you really need a lot more damage output. Saves might help against masochism, but you won't resist long. You should try to hit weapon vulns whenever you can. I don't know what your equipment looks like, but a couple of decimates against a mage per round isn't going to cut it as a giant warrior. Flee/return would be effective here as you don't have much else to do in combat and you might disrupt his casting a bit and you need the extra damage. I know it might look like he is smoking you, but think of him as an invoker that can't do as much damage. He really is just dispelling and doing a damage spell (which he can't do as fast as an invoker). You just can't match his damage output, so you lose. It'd be very nice if you had a cabal pet for damage output here. Take note of how his spell vise works. That will help you. Also remember that psis have trouble recasting big spells, so if you can get him to waste them and dance around a few ticks, he'll be retreating to mediate for them again, but generally speaking, overwhelming damage output will be the better key to winning this match in my opinion. Face a competent invoker and you would have been dead in 3 rounds. 2) Your EQ is not on par which means your damage is low and you can't defend against his spells. 3) You make many MANY mistakes. Pali Posted February 18, 2017 Report Share Posted February 18, 2017 If he's dispelling you easily and consistently, don't use the glimmering staff if you can avoid it - use black leaves, or even vials, anything that doesn't require you to spend time removing a weapon (black leaves you won't even need to flee for - once he's dirted, don't bother doing anything but letting your attacks go; just wait until you're dispelled and put sanc back right away) and can be easily replenished. Missile scrolls are expensive, though I know he has a ton, still though it will help with your hit/dam You might have done better if you were not running around trying to type three commands to give yourself an aura. With the right weapon selection and no regard for saves 70's. Play around with it and keep going at him. I like your heart and determination, keep at it. Link to comment

Enethier Posted February 19, 2017 Report Share Posted February 19, 2017 My druid had 60/65, -550 ac, and 30-40 saves before the rare purge this month, and I wasn't even really decked. It's not really all that hard once you learn what items to combine. Some slots are just far superior for certain stats. You might see the buffs an item will give you, and think "oh man, that will cover all of my saves requirements for affliction saves...." only to put it on and now have to transition 3 other slots to pure hit/dam to make up for it... which actually nets you a lower combined value than just getting a few hybrid pieces. You can also take advantage of the locker system to have a non-rare backup set that will net you about 45/45, -400, and 15-30 saves, so you can get back to the above numbers within a few hours. If anyone is curious about trying to powergame the lower levels (looking at you, q-wannabes), feel free to shoot me a PM. I spend a lot of time in those levels, since, you know, I can't play any normal character... and by consequence I think I can gear up a level 30 better than anyone else in the game. Link to comment
