Mush Client Help

Hello guys,

I've finally after all these years decided to leave GMud behind and try using Mush Client. I can see plenty of uses and it's a bit of an upgrade I've found, I love how much it can log, it's truly insane. I thought I had it all set up and going well, but I've found that if I make an alias for the key '1' cast 'flame arrow' or 2 cast 'hellstream' - If I add a target in front of that it doesn't seem to work.

When I type

1  'cast flame arrow' cast on who?

when I try typing

1 goblin, it just says huh?

I found an old forum post and downloaded a plugin which allows me to type 'target' goblin, also allowing me to press F5 to murder that target, and it can be easily changed by just typing 'target' giant. That's great, but I was curious if there was a way to utilize that 'target' command, and simply write 'target dwarf' and have it update all my alias' automatically so that when I press 1 it would cast 'flame arrow' dwarf or 2 cast 'hellstream' dwarf

Would really appreciate some help,

Thanks you,

Wow, well that answers that. A very informative, well edited and massively helpful video. Resolved a lot of my issues.

Though I have two questions, do I have to change target before attacking anything with my alias' including mobs? (not that fighting mobs requires much haste)

With GMud, I had the key 1 set so I could type 1 lizard, and that would cast 'flame arrow' lizard. However when PK'ing it'd sometimes screw up if I was blind and if I had updated the alias key 1 to cast 'flame arrow' XXX player, as it'd say something like, you can't see anything, or they're not here.

And secondly, what happens if I update my target to a shaman, then he blinds me, if I remain in combat and try to cast spells with my alias' all focusing on the target (shaman) that I cannot see, do I have the same problem?

I use macros F2-F12 (f1 doesnt work for some reason in mush client).

F2 = dkt, F3 = mmt, etc...

Alias : dkt = dirt @target, mmt = murder @target

Then I use alias for if I'm blind like

ss - ca 'hellstream'

If you put the target as "blah" and alias as "dk = dirt @target" it will always put the command "dirt blah" if blinded or not.

It will return "You cannot see that target" or whatever the exact verbiage is. So if you want to use alias', you will need two for each. One with the target and one without.

ss = ca 'hellstream'

sst = ca 'hellstream' @target

If you have an alias "blind" that returns "commune 'blind' warmaster", then you'll target warmaster and warmaster alone.  If warmaster then dirt kicks you and you use the alias, you'll get from the MUD "They're not here." or words to that effect.

So you can set up two aliases, "blind" and "blind1" where "blind" is "commune 'blind' warmaster" and "blind1" is "commune 'blind'".

As for setting up your alias to be something like "commune 'blind' {@target}" and have you cast blind whether or not you can see your target due to dirt/blindness ... I've kinda looked into something like that, but find that just having an alias "blind" as just your base "commune 'blind'" and just typing in "blind warmaster" into my command line is good enough for me, that way I can manually omit the target and still do a generic spell cast.

So I'll "blind target" until I'm in battle, then "blind" until they rescue/flee-return

Great advice, I will try and apply a few changes and see if I run into problems.

Hopefully this works

1 = cast flame arrow XXXX for openers and non blinded combat.

11 = cast flame arrow for when blinded.

I've never used CMud, but so far I'm loving Mush Client. I can't see any restrictions with it. And I'm stoked I finally have a tic timer!

I added trigger for "You have been KILLED!" to sound the signature death music for when you are killed in dark souls :) I wish I discovered Mush 13 years ago.

Looking for mush advice, if someone has the answers please.

1. I see "five seconds to tick" ect in some of your logs. I would like to know how this is achieved.

2. I have also seem spells displayed in a better manner than traditional "affect." I would like to know how this is done.

3. I would love to find a way to not have to enter my preferred prompt with every new character, can it be set to each world permanently?

Look forward to your advice.

Z/Cmud.  Unless the MUSH client plugin has the echo itself.  But Z/Cmud's built in tick timer echos this way.

If you mean the:
Is affected by:
San Arm Shi Air
0 0 0 0

Then it's simply "help affects"

The above is achieved by:
Affects 1 San Sanctuary
Affects 2 Arm Armor
Affects 3 Shi Shield
Affects 4 Air "Air Shield"

Aliases.  I have an alias "newcharacter" set up where it'll set my prompt and my most commonly used, generic in-game aliases.  Type in "newcharacter" and it'll PROMPT:alias m murder:etc
