Tantangel
I honestly have a lot of these moments for various reasons. For the most part I can keep them in check, and at other times I nearly lose it to the degree of ending someone or something. I was curious to see who all else is similar in that manner. One of my big ones at home at least would be trying to play this game and suddenly: Quote [Exits: south up] [KNIGHT] [||||||](2) A mighty Fortress looms over the area. (Red Aura) A vulture circles over you, waiting to swoop down to their meal. (Red Aura) A vulture circles over you, waiting to swoop down to their meal. A traveler is here, adventuring through the woods. s s s e e d s s s s e e e e [Exits: north south] [SAVANT] [||||||](2) The Time Vortex plays with the reality far above you. (Red Aura) A vulture circles over you, waiting to swoop down to their meal. (Red Aura) A vulture circles over you, waiting to swoop down to their meal. It's not a constant thing that happens by any means, but when it does happen, it hits for a good solid 30+ minutes at times with varying lag times. Then of course the 3 round lag when the game/client eventually boots me whether I manually disconnect or not. Outside of games though, I tend to usually be fairly calm with few exceptions such as people acting like idiots at work/on the road. Anyone else feel like sharing? Fool_Hardy
LOL. Did you drop something on the mountain? Heh. Edit: This happened a lot in the beginning if certain skills were used on you. The only reason to use such a skill on you is if your behavior followed an easily recognized patern. The Mountain Pass is a stock area, suspicious behavior and even illegal acts have been committed there since the first dawn of a dozen worlds. Not insinuating you did anything wrong, we can without knowledge do things in an odd way that looks suspicious. For instance. who drop item who If I were an IMM and watched you do this, why the hell do you care WHO is here when you dropped that? Suspicious behavior, even if not intending illegal activity. Tantangel
The items were there already and I only have one character that I'm playing. If sacrificing didn't take so long now, I'd sacrifice them like everything else I have in previous years. I had logged in 3 minutes before this too, so no skills/spells/songs used by or against me either. I'm sure it's my connection because it happens frequently some days, and not at all others. It makes the possibility of PK impossible when it does hit, and when it's not, I can only hope it doesn't hit at a crucial moment. I have had this happen during a PK a few times before, but they were all sub-50. It's aggravating though if I'm trying to do so with someone I'm already going to be on an uphill battle with. Fool_Hardy
Does the exhaust fan, sound like it's working harder at those times. I often find that the PLC driven machines at work have their processing speeds affected by over amping cooling fans. No joke. Your pc works on DC power. Even though you plug into an AC recep. Period. So if a cooling fan is drawing more than its share of the energy (9-24vdc) the controls have less. Simple as cleaning cooling fans often.
Tantangel
I haven't noticed any significant change in the sound of the laptop unfortunately. It will vary sometimes on when it hits, sometimes right after I log in, which is soon after I turn it on, but I've had it happen in the middle of a session after an hour of being on, and sometimes right before I even turn it off. The only real conclusion I've had was that it's likely something to do with my internet in most cases. My service loves to screw people over in the middle of the night when people aren't likely to be on and randomly, and in most cases that's the only gaming time I have anymore. Come August I will have maybe a few hours a month to play due to working 50 hours a week and another 60+ hours for school. I may look into getting a new PC though simply so I can have it to get by with school alone on account of this one being a good 8+ years old now. Fool_Hardy
Overnight down time to systems is a FCC requitement. We can not terminate the 911 services when people are MOST likely to need it. So communication companies do scheduled PM at nigjt. Sucks for us. But luckily it's a Sun-Thurs night window. Your provider should NOT be terminating the 911 services on Fri or Sat. If you suspect that they shut you down on one of those nights, call them on it. Media Com gave me two months free to keep me from turning them in. Companies count on you not being informed. Let them know who pays the bills, and who will pay the fines.
