I really just don't see how the new players are getting better at PK and are not even role playing. I see a lot of people role playing. And I agree they are getting better with PK... (I suppose I am one of those). For you to sit there and hold people to your RP standards and if they don't make the cut then they aren't role playing is BS.

As far as the guards are concerned, I have had no problems with them. It usually wasn't the guard I was ever worried about, it was the damn Tribunal behind the guard. We've beat Tribunal with a stick over, and over, and over again. Nothing has changed, and nothing will changed because the Immortals have the idea it is balanced. So why waste your energy with these posts?

To be clear, here are my standards.

No speech + No emotes + No notes == No rp.

If my standards are too high I apologize.

If somebody isn't talking, emoting, or noting at all, then it's a given that any form of RP is impossible, unless you're RPing a corpse. I mean, how else can you communicate with the world? I think those standards are perfectly reasonable Warpnow. :D

Thing to remember is, a lot of newer players don't RP much. It took me two pinns to do anything more than say. Why? Because I was scared to. When you've never done anything like roleplay before, and there's that big gang of people emoting and smoting away at the town centre, you don't want to contribute incase you just mess up or whatever.

As for the blood guard, it doesn't bother me. There has been a lot of conversation bandied about, about them, but meh, blood guards aren't THAT bad. They might have turned the tide in battle more than a few times, but most of the Tribunals who are doing good would still be doing good without it, I bet. Every single battle with a Tribby I've lost hasn't been because of their blood guard screwing me. It's me doing something silly, or not being as fast as the Tribby to get away, or them just being plain better than me.

Just my opinion.

Dey

EDIT: And just to add, even if in some cases, the blood guard is percieved as being slightly stronger than what they should be, remember what Tribbys are up against. Someone stated before that Tribunals have potentially the entire playerbase as their opponents. Count how many Wanteds/Outlaws are about currently, and compare that to how many opponents say, a Knight has at the moment. Plus, they're enemies with Watcher/Syndi, so have their other Cabal duties to uphold. And any single person could become a new foe for them, at any given time.

EDIT: Part Duex - Return of the edit:

The Tribunal guard is wholly and completely unchanged from the old Justice guard, other than being restrung with a new name.

Taken from the post when all this chat about guards very first started, back when Tribunal were implemented. Is it just me who's not seeing these ridiculously uber guards that everyone is complaining about, and perhaps even exagerrating about? :o

I have to disagree again. Just because someone doesn't use talking, emotes, or nothing at all with YOU in particular doesn't mean they cannot role play and are not role playing with someone else. Even if you never see it. Case in point, I had a character named Wrail who never spoke to anyone, I never used emotes, never leveled with people(Solo'd to 30) until after I was already APPROVED for Undead. I spoke with very few people but the one's I did speak to I did role play deeply with. All these people came about saying I had no role play. But I don't think that you can get approved for Undead with NO role play.

NO!!!

Currently, under NO condition, effect, or skill are the Blood Guards stronger than the Guard Captains of Justice. NONE.

Caps for emphasis, not for shouting.

You sure? I don't remember getting bashed to death by a hound and seeing more damage done by the hound than the melee tribunal.

You contradict yourself.

the one's I did speak to I did role play deeply with

And, FYI

YOU in particular doesn't mean they cannot role play

I don't give a **** if someone CAN rp its whether or not they DO that matters to me.

You don't see everyone in game, Warpnow. Even though you're young and may have a lot of time on your hands, considering it's summer.. You don't see everything. Just like the Immortals don't see everything.

The times I play on my lowbies, AND pinnacles, I get superb RP. Even if it's a drow cleric talking crap to me saying everything of mine is his, even my 'head'. Anyway, that's RolePlaying. If you're saying something you wouldn't normally say, and acting like someone you normally wouldn't act like, it's Roleplay. (In some situations I tend to think the people I RP with are like that in real life.. har har.)

Maybe it's just the time frame you play. Either way, its not our fault, or the pbase's fault. Pity you can't seem to find anyone to Roleplay, because I tend to find everyone I come into contact with roleplay.

1.0 Justice guards were nightmares... I remember a naked Dedgerent bashlocking my ninja while his guard just wailed on me. And that was back in the days when you could easily get upwards of -400 ac, crazy save vs spells, and hitdam/roll. In my experiences with these new guards... they def dont seem as tough as the previous ones.

There was Dedgerant and...The other one is on the tip of my tongue. Not Deravagner, though. Maybe had a K in it? I don't remember. Anyhow, yeah the blood guards are tough and all, but I personally remember seeing the infamous, "The Guard Captain changes it's weapon" "The Guard Captain's Hydrokenisis/pick your poison attack MASSACRES you!-Through Sanc" I've had a few run ins with the Blood Guards, and I can honestly say that they are strong, but no where near the old Captain. Yeah, they may hit you often and do all these extra nifty things, but so did the Guard Captains. And they hit Vulns. The super vulns, too. They didn't mess around with piddly 'Drowning' or 'Torrents'. They went straight for the kenisis. Anyhow, my favorite charmie will always be Mr. Vanguard. I could sit and RP with it by myself all day long and not even get bored.
