f0xx
I am curious why were undeads changed to be completely immune to piercing type of damage. Considering there are great deal of weapons and abilities, even a whole class (monks) that relies greatly on piercing attacks, it seems a bit too much of a bonus to be given, especially having in mind the plethora of bonuses they already have, their newly updated abilities and stats. So could some of the staff share their reasoning behind this? I am curious to hear what the PB thinks of this particular change too.
aaa
I think its a nerf monks didn't need. Especially versus a race they're already at a disadvantage against. I imagine the logic was regarding piercing arrows, I can see how they'd be ineffective against undead. Being immune to something is a VERY strong perk, I'd be more in favor of them getting a resistance to it instead.
aaa
This topic pops into my head quite often, I'm surprised no one had anything to say about it.
Implementor Anume Posted June 17, 2017 Implementor Report Share Posted June 17, 2017 Even after our changes to the qrace undead nobody ever played one. Given they got a very easy to hit high vuln, stronger than vulns other races have, they needed a big bonus to make up for it. Vamps got a similar strong vuln, but they get a ton of things to make up for it. Regarding arrows, they can still be hit if you use the right arrows. tassinvegeta
Yes. I've always felt like the old undead was more of a punishment than a reward lol. Especially that no corpse thing being so harsh. Die far off somewhere and you'd never get your equipment back. Heaven forbid if it was a low level malform. The new undead actually feels more like a qrace now.

I guess I am the only one seeing 3 active undeads, which actually makes them the most played qrace currently . I'll agree they needed a minor buff and they got it with their new stats, increased hp gains, better regen and having a corpse now, but immunity to piercing damage seems a bit like an overkill imho. First you say noone played them even after the change, now you say the three undeads came after the change...
Mali
More than just piercing, they are immune to all ranged attacks.
Implementor Anume Posted June 17, 2017 Implementor Report Share Posted June 17, 2017 We had two changes, f0xx. First was the upgrade in regeneration and the ability to consume a corpse (which was buggy as hell at first, but got fixed a long time ago). A few players tried to play an undead, but none stuck with it. Later we did change two, which was giving them immunity to piercing attacks. They should be hit by any non-piercing arrows. If they are not, that's likely a bug.
Mali
I could not hit Donovan with slingshot.
Zavero
Was there a specific type of ammo you used with the slingshot or you couldn't hit him with any type of ammo using the slingshot?
Mali
Well, I think it was legitimate bug because it just appeared in the change logs... not sure if it requires more investigation.
