Fool_Hardy
I remember one of the immortals commenting that E created a reset button for them. Maybe we should look into a conditional reset button being added to the forum. Once clicked, it could verify that the mud is actually down, and if so force a reset. If the mud is not down, it could return a message to the one who clicks it that it must be their connection. I am sure some safeguards would have to be implemented to keep the wanna be hackers from screwing a good thing up. Maybe offer a few veteran players exclusive access to the button for instance. I would say trusted daily players, but I know that one of players I would trust most told me she does not have a current character. Edit: Of course if the mud is broken due to new implementations, the reset button would fail. But the staff could "disconnect" the button when implementing new things that may "break" the code. Unknown Criminal
Off the top of my head you could write a php script and a set a cron job that checks for activity every 5 minutes, a 'true' return and nothing happens, but a 'false' return would initiate a curl command to run the startup. Implementor Erelei Posted May 16, 2017 Implementor Report Share Posted May 16, 2017 A lot of the time it's a bug caused by a save somewhere which prevents the mud from starting. Im away from home right now and unable to diagnostic. I'll be home in a couple hours to see what's going on. Sorry for the inconvenience guys.
