I feel Like You guys Have the asking for New Members And a Newbie Chat which I don't think matters since everyone's so negative in helping others who haven't been playing this Mud For Decades Coding Testing and talking to immortals first hand to gather information. If everyone would lose the I'm so Macho in FL Ego and Thought hey lets try and build the Pbase by making people who Don't know every secret and short cut in FL and throw them some bones rather then insult people on your Buddies Behalf.  Grow Up Gentlemen and lend a hand while from atop your Ivory Towers.

Ives Great effort. Focus on one on One for now, You'll be peeling caps in no time.

I feel like when people give advice it isn't taken as advice, but as condescension. Many of us have given advice from myself to f0xx to Anume and so on. We've literally told them exactly how we win our PKs. I have outlined it command to command and why. I have given my insight on tactics and strategy. But what we receive in response isn't a thank you for the help or a grateful attitude, it is disagreement or arguments about why what we suggested won't or doesn't work. Things like, " I know what I'm doing. " or " I know how to play this class, I played X character in 2010. ", and my favorite ones " What do you know? You only play X or you do well because the IMMs love you. ", those types of responses make me say screw it.

Players like you, Kamikazi, and Wade like to take this position of ethical high ground because our advice doesn't meet your qualifications on what is considered helpful advice. I maintain my position that no one is obligated to give advice to anyone. I have my own tricks. F0xx has his, Tassin has his, Kyzarius, etc etc. We tell you guys these little tips and time and time again you claim they don't or won't work. So, why should we try to convince you to take our advice?

Pretty sure no one has a direct link to me to ask me information to get them ahead.

... I could be wrong and have multiple personalities. That may be why I'm always dead tired in the morning, my other personality is online dishing out all the awesome secrets to all his favorite players.

Pretty sure the point is to make people feel wanted and help them adjust to an already dominate Pbase, rather then tell them to go away when they ask for help that's all. "Players Like me" can figure it out for themselves. But someone asking hey IDK could you help? And Genuinely needing your help being met with go pound sand makes everything seem all the more welcoming.

@sith_da_pirate if you believe anyone is being that way, bring it to the Prayer Forum.

From what I've seen, though, briefly looking over the forum from time to time, the majority of the player base genuinely tries to help those who ask for help. It's when those players respond with, "Well that didn't work, that's a stupid suggestion." or "Well that didn't work, why not?" (and when responded with, "Because you didn't do it correctly, or time it right", it's met with, "YOU ELITIST!")

We just all gotta put in and understand each other. Just because a player tries to help and explains you took the advice wrong and you died because of that doesn't make them an elitist or someone who wasn't initially trying to help. Responses like that literally turn most of the good players' into irritated players who don't want to try to help for fear of backlash and confrontation when all they're trying to do is help.

I apologizes if you took any offense, I was just responding to the remarks Foxx and Fire had made. People Don't Know I am sure thats why they ask the Elite players for help. As annoying as it is I almost feel obliged to help them. So you can Direct your questions to me Guy if you ever need a hand.

People that legitimately don't know aren't the problem. More often than not they are given spectacular advice and information about anything and everything they ask about. Especially now that forum rules are basically gone. The problem are people that have a specific vendetta against other players that incite this misconception of people hoarding information so they can keep their edge. If you believe this then you're a fucking idiot. People share everything. Down to the macros, alias, and tricks of their clients. Literally.

The issue lies with people like Kamikazi that will roll a combo he believes to be the bane of a character that is played by a player he doesn't like. When he gets his shit pushed in, he then brings his aggression to the forum and screams about this elitist culture because he simply isn't better than the person he wants to kill. As it always has and always will, negativity breeds negativity and it spreads. Now all of sudden there are torches and pitchforks for the veteran(elitist) players.

Its not an elitist culture that is preventing the advancement of the playerbase. Its people that constantly point fingers at others for their shortcomings instead of looking at their own faults. People get mad because they lose. It sure as hell can't be their fault they lost. No way. It has to be a rigged system, rigged game, or secret information no one wants to share.

There are VERY few secrets in FL. VERY few. Why? Because ANYONE can figure them out. ANYONE can ask about them.

What's the secret to posting off topic and not getting silenced?

I haven't figured that one out yet.

I reserve the right, as does any Immortal here, to continue a conversation or stop it, regardless of the set rules. It was a legitimate discussion. Let's not try to dampen it.

You'll have to forgive me for not being the chirpiest of the bunch. When your legitimate reply gets deleted and then there are numerous subtle jabs at you in further replies it does make you a bit jaded.

Really simple actually. Don't make remarks to discredit or irritate other people on the forum?

Your problem is you only see your own posts removed and think there some vendetta against you where as in reality I remove everyones posts.

Pretty funny of you to post this, considering it was you who started this off-topic flame baiting, because you  didn't like the advise I gave, even though, out of all the playerbase, I've done the most to increase the knowledge of "how to play a blademaster".

Honestly, it's people like you who make me not want to give any advise at all.

I mean, just look at your posts:

aka, get stuff and do things.

I think he wanted a bit more to go on than that.

We need to cull this elitist culture of withholding information, just show him an eq list and tell him what rp edges you got.

Honestly I don't get why my rebuttals always get censored and to be honest I don't really care anymore.

You have 5 posts in this thread (including the one quoted at the beginning), NONE of them being on topic, none of them offering any help, all of them arguing with other people, including staff members, yet you blame others for not wanting to help and acting "ELITE" and being off-topic.

It's stupid of me to even post this, because with your attitude, you force me to go off-topic myself, yet if I don't post anything, I am called an elitist who hoards information.

This somehow reminds me of the time when another player copied Thulgan's build down to the T... and failed utterly.

And then complained to Thulgan that he can't use whips and weaponlock on every opponent.

Even telling them when to use it and when not did not change anything, they were still upset at Thulgan bc I did it right.

On a less funny side, I've also heard rumors about my char Thulgan having been pimped, I can assure you, this was not the case.

I've seen other ogre warriors who had better stats, it's a matter of tactics, build and combinations.
