Unknown Criminal
UNTIL I LOG ON! Lol The little shits will play on their iPads or their toys until the instant I grab the laptop and log in. What comes next is 100 drinks and feed me's and or let's grab daddy's arm so he can't press the keys, no really, that seems to be a game... They used to sit in the bath or shower for an hour, now by the time I fill the tub and sit down they are already wanting a towel... smh 3 times this afternoon they were totally occupied, 3 times I logged in and each time at the 5 minute mark I've logged out. Oh well, the life of a daddy UC

Oh well, the life of a daddy UC Expand I feel you - and I've only got one. That said this is a recognised phenomena. Basically Kids are amazing at picking up when you are focusing on something. Getting attention when you aren't doing anything isn't 'valuable' to them - their sub-conscious wants to know that they are more important than whatever it is you are focusing on. I get the same thing with my Son - sit on the Sofa while he plays on the floor - no problem. Get up and move 4 feet to my desk - immediate attention fuss. Expand Yeah realistically 6 - 18 months was an FL deadzone for me - Teething just messed up sleeping so much that any spare time I had was spent catching up on sleep! Feel your pain - all I can say is that teething does end eventually, even if it doesn't feel like it is going to!
Kyzarius
You need to look into "Mom's on Call" for sleep training. My Riley is 1 year old now, has been sleeping through the night from 7pm to 630- 7am every night without fail for 6 months now. The only time we have any issue is when she had a cold, the sniffles kept her up. They give you advice, suggestions for tools like white noise machines, and schedules for naps that worked like magic. The first week can be tough since you have to let them cry it out a little, but the results are freaking amazing. The only thing we did different is we let her have two "wubbies" in bed. Pacifiers that are attached to small stuffed animals, she uses them for comfort. We also don't let her have them outside of bed at all, so no kid with mouth rot from sucking on a pacifier 24/7. After bath time I literally put her in her pajamas go set her in the crib and walk out every night, she just grabs a wubbie lays down and thats it. Sleeps all night every-time. Fool_Hardy
Honestly. Hooked on Phonics FTW. @ 23 and 25 my kids STILL watch me play quietly. With the occasional "DAD! You got Served!" Or "Did you see his trigger for Sanc? That's so and so, lead him to _____ you might pull off a win." Yeah, my kids don't play, Text sucks in their heads. But they are actually instinctively better PKers than I could ever be.

Implementor Anume Posted June 28, 2017 Implementor Report Share Posted June 28, 2017 For the slightly bigger kids, it's important that they understand that there is kids time but there is also parents time and alone time. If they don't get that, you'll eventually go nuts.
