Can someone recommend me an good magical sword for an Elf (18 STR) ?
Doesn't needs to do vuln damage, just ignore giant physical resistance.
All I can think of is Lightbringer and it's 26 avg damage. Which is nothing when compared with the avg31 giants can wield.
Surely there should be a better sword out there unknown to me.

Object 'Zoichan icy glare' is type weapon, material ice.
Extra flags: glow magic nodrop bless noremove burnproof.
Weight is 12, value is 2, level is 50.
Weapon type is sword.
Damage is 9d5 (average 27).
Affects hitroll by 4.
Affects damroll by 4.
This item is spellforged with: icicle.
Unique item.
You have a vague feeling this item can be used somehow.

[edit] Although, I've seen Ivesianna use it against Veri, so I should have figured it on my own....

[edit2] Although, Ivesianna is not an ordinary elf.... so I guess that's why my brain excluded it.

This is why we need to apply weapon size, T,S,M,L,E, Giant races can not wield Tiny, and small races can not wield Enormous.

An old suggestion I know, but it was a good Idea back then, and time has proven it.

The amount of time that would take would be INSANE. To go through all the weapons and add a size variable to them? Screw that, lol.

By insane amount of time, you mean like someone would have to spend hours each day in Aabahran doing virtually nothing anyone else will ever notice.

Can not imagine that happening. I mean really WHO does this?

Wasted time requires one to regret the time spent. No regrets, no wasted time.

Also, the weight alone ALREADY disqualifies small races from some weapons, all we have to do is decide what weight is too LIGHT for the giants. Then the "variable" is unnecessary. And we could create very light weapons for the smaller races moving forward.

But where do we draw the line? 18, 19, 20, 21 Str? That would get a bit messy I think, but not insurmountable.

Lol. Stop trying to be so damn philosophical in your posts. Its irritating.

I'm saying its too much time for someone to spend on a project when they could spend it elsewhere. Its tedious, mind-numbing work with a very low reward.

You have to remember I majored in Philosophy brother. Some people go to college to be a doctor, or an engineer, I just wanted to be smarter. I already had a good job.

That's all well and good, but when you constantly say things like that, it comes off extremely pretentious. It doesn't make you look smarter. It makes you look like a dick.

Having played pen and paper with @Fool_Hardy many years ago and knowing his personality it is funny to me that he seems like a dick. I can see where you are coming from though. Personally, I just see him as some philisophical hippy with a joint in his mouth.

Edit: Is the crusader sword one or two handed?

Basicaly and anti-giant and giant-only flag, like we already have to races and classes..........

So, basically, I have to slay Zoichan to get it, right?

This 'change/modification' would take less that 6 minutes,  from writing the code from scratch, recompiling and then rebooting. The main question is do we need it?

Should giant races only be able to use superpowerful mundane weapons while smaller races can only take  advantage of the smaller magical ones? ;)

To me that sounds 'right', giants should be using brute mundane force while smaller warrior types depend on magical weapons to help stay on par. Give a giant a magical weapon and you throw all the smaller warrior types under the bus because that should be 'their' advantage where they don't have size for lag or strength for hit/dam.

Just my 2c on the sub :)

Question.

Does weapon weight affect anything other than the STR required to wield it?

Example, does a light weapon aid in parry, and a heavy weapon aid in two-handed behind the scenes so to speak?

Some skills are affected by it such as DK cleave, berserker weapon/shield cleaves, and I think some blademaster stuff. I'm sure there are more that I'm not remembering. Maybe Crusader behead?

No, unless its been changed.

Weight was majorily used to determine offhand dual wield being equal or less, favoring less.

I think equal weight weapons should be able to be wielded and dual wielded while two handed bonuses are given to giants. (ie) non giants cant dual wield with a two handed weapon.

I also think two handed weapons should hit harder where most classes cant dual wield them to make up for the damage loss, giants ofcourse receiving a bonus in this area.

I kinda picture a giant hitting for 3 demolishes while an elf hits for 6 mutilates kinda thing.

You wanted to be smarter and thus majored in Philosophy?

Interesting....
