Who Played Who?

I remember as an Imm feeling like I had a lot of material to work with. When you have 30 or 40 people to play with, and you show up, people are like "he is here, this is happening." With fewer players it is like "an imm is on, they are totally snooping me, I hope I don't have to interact." But those days are past! Not saying I don't enjoy interacting with imms. It is just one of those things.

Maybe let's work as a team to figure how to create both a more diverse playing environment while fostering both player growth and retention.

Perhaps like some of the old events I used to see happen. Group goes out hunting or eq gathering. Imm steps in and makes the trip memorable. One example is I think there was a plasm beast that went and followed us around doing quirky things, it was like the whole lassie and the boy in the well until it blew up lol

Raining bunnys or something one time was pretty out there. And anume has done some pretty cool things like when I rolled a dice and got above a 4 while being chased she'd save my ads from impending doom while I was getting steamrolled <and still do lol>

It's really up to all of us. Let's make it work

Ill never forget the time I got a fire dragon just for asking where old Griff got his ducks from.

Ive written 3 kickass descriptions and gotten 3 armor dragons, one for a thief, one for a cleric and the last one an invoker. I was so disappointed with the dragon (because I could cast armor myself) I couldn't even play the characters, deleted all of them within hours of approval. Ever since that last one my characters have received 10 lines of description that's sooo bad the imms can pick my chars out of a crowd, lol

Hey, how about the armor dragon cast flesh armor instead, that way it's not so poopy a gift ;)

So many forget to rp. Or perhaps do not like rolling with what comes. Description approved 1 rp. Description approval sought through RP several points. Dcheck is wonderful, but I still pray. Seems to still work wonders. While you were gone Dale, one of mine had 2 dragons.

I was against dragons getting their own slot with no alternative ways to acquire things for that slot for this exact reason.

Agreed,

I've had a bunch of dragons but there is nothing more heartbreaking then spending sooo much time on a description and having it just getting approved with no dragon. My last character had one of the best descriptions I've ever wrote, and it was accepted and then nothing. I'd love feedback on what to change, or how to make it better or why it fell short for next time, or something.

It's impossible - there is FAR too much OOC that goes on in this game.  Be it Facebook, chat apps, IMMs and their morts, you name it.  The proliferation of players being able to play as many pinns as they want is the detriment of this game.  If we were limited as players to a small number of pinns, you'd see far greater interaction, far more diverse PK.  The acceptance of dying in PK would be greater too because so-and-so can't just sac your shit so his/her up-and-coming pre-50 can go venturing for it in a few hours.  The playerbase is too small to handle as many pinns as people play.  That has always been my opinion.  Any more than two is too many.

Ever wonder why Foxx knows who plays everyone?  Or why that certain nemesis always logs on exactly at the worst time?  You get the point.

No, because then everyone would cry about not having one. Admittedly you shouldn't have gotten a earth dragon as a cleric - we don't want to give dragons out that do something you can already do. If this does happen, instead of deleting why not just pray - "Hey, earth sucks cause I'm a cleric, what about lightning?" then you might get re-looked at. Alternatively post it on the forums in prayer and say hey, do you think this deserves a dragon? I did this and got shot down twice recently. Shit happens.

I think @Wade below nailed it. They are weak because its a slot that can't be filled with anything else. Know the irony here? The Playerbase (myself included) howled, gnashed their teeth and beat their breasts because they couldn't have their little dragon and a floaty. We make it possible to have both and suddenly - omg I can't fill that slot soo... No one should have one! :pardon:

You're right. I'm sure the reason you've died to people like Kotrag is because he has a tiny ittle wittle dragon which progs once every 10,000 years.

The irony of UB liking this is extreme, he should share his character list in the last 3 months some time.

Caps suit me. I find it impossible to play more then 1 main anyway. Throw imm duties in and my play time is very very limited.

Huh? I liked it because it seemed that every time I brought Cyprian online suddenly there was two warmasters and a Tribunal almost every time as soon as I log in.

I've also not had many powerful characters this time around,

Yaggimdorph, Tedins, Figgilwap and Cyprian were the characters I've played. It doesn't bother me if people know who I play.

The same power hungry douche bags constantly take the fun out of the game then wonder where all the players went, almost makes me laugh.

And if you put up a decent fight or simply don't die to them it isn't long before inexplicable luck graces them and they kill you under unbelievable circumstances that seem too lucky to be coincidence.

But I'm obviously self persecuting and paranoid. :pleasantry:

How does the phrase go? The only winning move is to not play.

Can't die if you don't play.
