Is "the Elder Codex" actually a thing?

So I've had some characters in training mode and I've used that time to read a lot of help files. (Yay help files on the website.)

I was reading the Duergar help file and it mentions the Elder Codex and points to the dwarf files which also refers to it.

First off, I love what you've done with the help files for the races. Great job to everyone involved. The problem is I can't find the codex.

The dwarf help file says, "The Elder Codex forms the backbone of dwarven society as well as dwarven law." So it's something that any dwarf from Kh... would / should know. The dwarf help file mentions 2 of the laws, 1 of which is quoted in the duergar help file.

I had a character training in Kh... and took a look around. I could not find it and there isn't a help file on it.

Is the Codex a real, in-game thing? Is it a reference to external literature? (If so, what?) Should dwarf characters even care about it?

Thanks for the help. You all have done a lot of work and I'm trying to immerse myself in it.

You see, myrek, that is why we all love and come back to FL eventually.

The Elder Codex can be everything you want it to be, as long as you have the persistence, longevity and sheer willpower to "enforce" it through your RP.

Forge it by your own view and have a character significant enough to make it last through the years.

Then ten years from now, people will say "Noobsauce", played by myrek made the Elder Codex, just like Thulgan blew up Rheydin and Anamus rebuilt it later into Maelbrim. Just like Jaspurr emancipated the halflings of the Hamlet, like Sepahoona built that bone altar and grew a third hand.

I agree with Foxx - if there's a hole in the lore, feel free to make it up as you like.  Unless you do a really terrible job of it, I doubt anyone will mind.

Hell, even if there isn't a hole.  I completely rewrote the Illithid to be the Borg for a couple characters and nobody complained at my blatant violation of established lore. ;)
