Demon DK vs Kaelin Elvin Crusader Tribunal

So I'd like to begin with the fact that I've never fought a Crusader before. I've never played a DK to 50 and I haven't played a Demon before either so I wasn't sure what to really expect because of it. I figured I'd try and get a little bit of RP in before an actual fight, but rather than that I got battle instead. That's not a bad thing though, just expected it to go differently. At this point I'm probably the worst Demon DK in the history of them, but here's the logs and hopefully I didn't reveal anything that shouldn't be.

If he is blinded order your charmie to rescue you to take the hits. No sense in standing there getting hit if he is blinded. What weapon(s) are you using?

He was using discordant fiber. Which is not an bad choice, imho, considering the recent changes to behead. Not much point to having a defensive weapon there.

I think you noted already that your timing can use work. Dirt kicking him right before the tick really started shaping things up badly.  I would also note that at this point in your life, you should be focusing more on mals. You're not yet a melee powerhouse. You might also find that you like the Mistress of Magic more at this stage. She can nuke him with spells, can dispel, and can cast blindness. 

You only used magic missile when it was done for you. You should be casting it a few times, then running off and healing. Come back, land a few mals, heal, return. It will drag your fights out a lot, but DKs are fantastic with attrition. Much more so than crusaders. 

If you had landed a veil, you could have very effectively heal danced. 

Curse is also essential for you against another melee class. 

If you think you might be fighting Kaelin again, frequently try locking down the ash covered cloak. He favors using his fire lance, and by picking up an ash cloak you are forcing him to maintain a second weapon just to compete.

Charmies are a very weak area of knowledge for me unfortunately. Travl isn't bad but he also hurts a lot when I fail, especially since I fail it on him often. Same goes for the Warlock though failing happens far less in those cases. I'll have to take a look into the Mistress though, thanks for the tip on that. I plan on fighting him a lot since he seems to be hell bent on "saving" me which is fine. I'm using a mace in my primary and a whip in my secondary at the beginning , one of which is the Fiber, but I did switch it out at one point too because I wasn't sure if the damage output was enough for it and the possibility of my other one landing paralyze I'd decided to go with that.

Running wasn't too much of a problem, as the first time he fled he ran right inside his Cabal shortly after our first encounter. Those damned rushing skills though are painful as hell. I accidentally lagged myself in the process of doing that at the end because I had a alias I spammed to try and get in the first attack. I rectified it shortly after though by removing it because I could've been getting screwed more by a combo of my lagging myself and him lagging me. I will have to try the mal route a little more though, not knowing his saves, I wasn't sure if they'd land or not. I'll have to try and sleep him next time if I can get it in. That Behead damage is pretty gnarly since it's through protections and  average AC. I don't want to know what it's like if I didn't. Thank you for the advice, I'll try my hand again sometime in the near future.

One day I will play a dk to 50. I have always wondered about certain creatures and why no one charms them. Are certain Mobs immune to charm?

Lots of high-end mobs are immune. There is also a level cap to charm, where you can't charm mobs that are too high of a level for your own.

Charm is just like fire, bash, magic, disease, negative, water, holy, etc. So a mob (or player) can be resistant, vuln, or immune. Elves are resistant and undead are immune to charm, for instance. The sleep spell is an example of a charm spell.

Tiny (faerie)

Small (halfling, gnome maybe?)

Regular (human, dwarf, elf, illithid, slith, werebeast, duergar, avian, undead, half-elf, half-drow, feral, drow)

Giant (giants x3, ogre, minotaur)

Warlock (demon)

There are 5 sizes:

Tiny - Faeries and such

Small - Halfings and such

Medium - Humans and such

Large - Ogres and such

Giant - No race is giant sized without spells.
