Implementor Erelei Posted October 18, 2017 Implementor Report Share Posted October 18, 2017 Connect a new keyboard to it? Laptop keyboards are expensive, usually, but.. they're not hard to clean. Remove the keyboard and clean it. If it's FUBAR, then you need to buy a new one, or connect one via USB. *shrug*
Dale
yea I'm probably gonna hve to do that, just sucks because its a new lptop. I already cleaned under the keys, nothing seemed to be hindering it's ability to work
Magick
If it's new, perhaps it's under warranty?
Dale
maybe I'm actually trying to find that out now
Magick
Don't admit to spilling water on it. Unless you've got some sort of accidental damage warranty. And double check the fine print if you do.
Unknown Criminal
Hot water on a cloth, ring it out good so that it's just damp but still steaming. Turn your laptop upside down so the keys are facing downwards, wash the keyboard with the steamy cloth. The steam will loosen up the key connections, make sure you ring the cloth out good, you just want the steam and heat.
Aidon
Chiclent island type keyboards on laptops are expensive. The old style where the keyboard is it's own spot can be drop in replaced cheaply. Depends on the laptop.
Dale
I caved and bought a usb keyboard, really annoying playing from my recliner though. But I called the company and they are going to service it so I just have to go without fl for a week or two. Now it's just a matter of can I cold turkey it or just go on being ridiculous in a recliner on a laptop with a keyboard.
Aidon
Buy $35 raspberry pi and $5 SD card and install a command line mud client like tintin++ or tinyfugue. If you have some kind of monitor or TV to hook it up to. Could even use the $10 pi zero w but you wouldn't want to use it for anything but mudding.
