Trick
Berserkers are TERRIBLE. When are people gonna learn? The only path of success for a berserker is FG Reaver only because FG and Reaver go so well.. Besides that, you were caught with your pants down. I woulda chilled in the cabal and made him attack it, then stanced and came out. You know what went wrong and it wasn't the fact that you didnt log out, lol. Kotrag is a melee ninja. Is Syndicate Leader. Has more bling than Liberace. Why on earth would you dual wield vs him? FUUCK that. I'd have worn the blazing bardiche. You'll have dodge, parry, and weapon block as well as dealing fire damage vs a feral AND he doesn't know polearm. Yep. That'd be my angle 100%. Dirt kicking at the start was bad idea. And fleeing would have been an even worse idea. Another disintegrate woulda sucked more than that round. Shoulda just stanced up then maybe fled or dirt kicked. Sorry bud, you n00bed it. Happens to all of us. Link to comment
mya
If you are not PKing, don't dual wield two offensive weapons. Wield a cursed polearm/staff. The textbook reason why, is this log. Surprise PK. You got caught with no sanctuary, blind, dual wielding the worst defence weapons vs an extremely decked Leader. I would have stanced, raged and haymakered him. Or probably not... Anonymous
I normally would have stanced first but he jumped me sooo fast, literally i did a 'where' and the ford was empty, laid down and he was on me. The dirt kicking was to create space and reset, just straight fleeing would have had me eating a throw and then a murder throw. Against any other class I would have fled. I would have loved to have a bardiche , got one? lol I always go into a fight dual wielding axes just to compare damage output, if im losing i always flee and wield up a good polearm. Two failed dirt kicks was my downfall, not that it would have made me win but it would have given me a chance to regroup, reweapon and reengage. *Hornecka* Anonymous poster hash: 84dcf...2cb Link to comment

I 'miss' more while raged, also more of my attacks get dodged and parried, sure when one hits its harder but the loss of defense isnt worth it. In all reality I can only rage against mages OR underdressed melee classes. Also with rage its the KEY for successful haymakers, cleaves and headbutts. 2. Haymaker doesnt work. Its one of those skills that sounds like a great idea vs a tough opponent when in all reality ive only ever landed it on underdressed opponents whom im already beating. The fact that if I have time to think about attempting a haymaker means I dont need to do it, im already winning. Since raging against a tough opponent is always a death sentence even attempting haymaker would be laglocking myself, haha. *Hornecka* Anonymous poster hash: 84dcf...2cb Link to comment

The reason i picked the cove was that its deep enough into the ford that I should have been able to get away with the 'where' / tick catch he wasnt there. Hes soo fast, I swear he has got to be getting twice my ping! haha Anonymous poster hash: 84dcf...2cb Link to comment
Lloth
Basic weapon selection could have saved your life. Never dual wield, especially heavy offense/low defense weapons, against anyone better dressed and/or more proficient than you. As stated, the blazing bardiche should have been your choice. Losing your most reliable defense and a vuln hitting weapon is not worth getting a few extra attacks. Tactics should not end at hit/dam counting. Link to comment
Rygothran
While I agree that he should have been wearing a polearm if he even thought he was going to fight Kotrag, the circumstances surrounded their fights may not have lent time to grab one if it was even available. If you plan to fight Kotrag quite a bit then you may be on the lookout though. Stance/santuary should always be the FIRST thing you do if you are not already in it or if it falls. While you wouldn't have been able to keep fighting you may have at least escaped and lived. I personally would have fled north to my cabal guardian, ate the throw, immediately stanced, and assessed the mess from there. Link to comment
Anonymous
Sorry for butting in, but what exactly is a blazing bardiche and where would I get my hands on one? Always in need of decent polearms myself. - Ialantha Anonymous poster hash: 311a5...e69 Link to comment

Magick
Object 'blazing bardiche' is type weapon, material mystic. Extra flags: nodrop bless noremove. Weight is 35, value is 2, level is 50. Weapon type is two-handed polearm. Damage is 4d12 (average 26). Affects polearm by 3. Affects hitroll by 2. Affects haymaker by 2. Affects weapon cleave by 5. Affects str by -1. You have a feeling only a berserker can use it. Unique item. The towering Archon rises above the area, a formidable beacon of order summoned as the Bonseer's Rift threatened to rend the threads of reality asunder. Nobody has managed to dissuade the being from its constant patrols, even though, the city has been largely rebuilt. Perhaps nobody even tried very hard, as the citizens have become used to this most extraordinary being and have grown rather fond of it. The incorporeal being shimmers and undulates like a half-remembered dream, though the blazing weapon in it's grip remains solid, held at the ready in the event justice has need to be served. Manual Labour
Sorry Lala, it's a berserker item only. Easy to find though if it's in, ask in game. (nevermind, you got your answers above hehe) This is a terrible example to use to make any point, you were down to 40% hp before you got into your stance. Missing dirt kicks is pretty annoying, but that's part of the price of playing a low dex race vs a high dex race with probably very good AC. 110% Parry is not gonna get you far when blind and wielding an axe. 103% dodge is not that great, especially as a low dex race. Also didn't help you that he got a double round after the push/murder. Bad luck & bad prep on your part, it could have been much closer. Link to comment

Tantangel
You also have to realize that despite the fact that he can hide and travel through a good portion of the Ford without being seen, he's also a part of Cabal meant to be hard to track and see whether that's coming or going. You sleeping and his subsequent attack may have seemed fast, but in 2-3 seconds it's impossible to move from the entrance to the Ford to the Cove. Unless he was connected directly into the game and 0 lag of any kind. It's more plausible that he was either hidden or something else from sight and you just didn't catch it at that moment because you were anticipating being able to get a tick of sleep in without repercussions. Having fought him before and called him out because I was bountied and knew he'd come for me, he didn't move all that quickly through the area at all. He was incredibly fast, I'll give him that, but it took him a good 15-20 seconds before he got to me. I don't know who plays him, but I'd say he's pretty skilled. You can't completely rely on just one weapon type to win your fight though. An Axe may be what you specialize in, but you shouldn't make it your go to weapon for him. I've learned to avoid him at all costs if I'm bountied, and that includes logging off. I'd rather not play the game and live than go in knowing I'll die. I've held my own against him once decently well, and nailed him hard with a few good shots, but that's about where it left off. If you're intent on specifically fighting him, I'd say try and get your hands on some fiery weapons. You're more limited than a Warrior, but don't think the perk to high hit/dam will win you that fight. Your one attack hit for a decent amount of damage through protections he has. You spent a portion of the fight completely vulnerable and it shows. The stance was essentially a bit too little too late. Always stance if he lands the first hit. It would've been better than the dirt. It's a painful log to look at because I've seen what he can do. For the future though I'd keep my eyes open longer if you're going to call him out or have a bounty. Just because you don't see him on 'where' doesn't mean he's not there. Assume he's always nearby and watching. As far as the bardiche goes though, don't bank on it. There's two of them, and I doubt you'll get your hands on it anytime soon unless you decide to go the route of bountying the people who do have it. Don't be discouraged or feel that the class is overpowered, the player has overcome a few tweaks already that have weakened him and it really has proven that he's more skilled than some may have thought.
