Ali_gmud
I want to know if there are any chilli enthusiasts here. I live in Italy and the food sucks here. Its just cheese this, tomato that and everything painted in olive oil. And I have yet to discover any common dish that caters to my love of spicy foods. So i have been ordering different hot sauces from the US as well as grew my own carolina reapers, red habanernos, morgu scorpions and 20 odd jalapeno plants over the summer. I know in Murica y'all pretty big on big flavours and I am envious I dont live there anymore. Looking for some good ideas of explosive flavoured foods to knock the socks off these bloody italians. Pieman
I like chili, my secret in my chili is sort of a cooking taboo. When you cut jalapenos you're supposed to deseed them. I do deseed them, yet I put the guts into the chili itself. It adds a bite to it but still keeps the acidic taste of the Jalapeno. Is there anything specific you're looking for? Ali_gmud
A good chilli recipe would be awespme or a sauce combination to add to fried chicken. I loved those southern dishes too, canjun is the best seasoning ever. But you can't find it here. Getting the right ingredientshere is often a challenge to. 1,000 cheeses to choose from, but no good ol fashioned smoked cheese in sight.
Pieman
My favorite is really easy 1 tablespoon olive oil 2 large red onions, chopped 5 tablespoons chopped jalapeño chilies with seeds 8 garlic cloves, chopped 2 pounds ground beef (15% fat) 1/4 cup chili powder (McCormick is the brand I use...I just use a whole packet) 2 tablespoons ground cumin 1 teaspoon paprika 1 can of diced tomatoes in juice 1 can of rotel tomatoes 2 cans kidney beans, drained 1 box (it's in boxes over here, I can find the amount in it if you want me to) beef broth Top with Sour cream Grated cheddar cheese Chopped green onions I just brown up the beef by itself in a frying pan, then throw it all in a crock pot. Pieman
Maybe something neat for people in italy for fried chicken would be to use a mustard batter, it's a bit of a different taste...also I love mustard. This is a good mustard fried chicken recipe that I've used. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/87473/mustard-fried-chicken/

My wife makes "illegal grilled cheese" Bread with mayo on the outside. No butter. A few pieces of cheese, some jalopenos, sun dried tomatoes, and an over easy egg. You bite into it, catch the heat of the jalapenos taste melted cheese and that egg bursts spilling over in a delicous cascade that whispers marry this woman now.
