Hot Change Date: 11/03/2017

There may be more to these changes as time goes forward, and there may be modifications, but:

  • Dark-knights do not receive penalty to maledictive spells, just like shamans - they stay at level 50 casting power, now.
  • Halflings lose VULN to weapon - halflings can no longer choose blademaster as a class.
  • Undeads lose IMMUNITY to piercing damage - gain IMMUNITY to all arrows EXCEPT holy arrows.
  • Bards get +3 spell level to songs.

I find it funny that Knight, the guys specialized in fighting the undead, supply arrows that don't work against them.

I'd love to know what it is about my comments that trigger you so much.

You've gotta be doing some serious mental gymnastics to convince yourself that Knight aren't specialized in fighting the undead/demons/forces of nexus.

Doesn't the Knight helpfile even say that itself?

Undead are not necessarily in Nexus though. A non avatar / non purity Knight might even end up trading with some (e.g. in Tribunal / Savant). A stalker is bound to hunt them down, without exception however. So Knight is more generally anti Nexus, no matter what race those Nexians are. Stalker is anti unnatural so all undead, no matter what cabal they are.

Let's see here....

Help KNIGHT says:

====

KNIGHTS

Though few believe it these days, there has been such time in annals
of Aabahran when the lands were free of the taint of Undead and Demonic
and the people of the land led their lives free of the corruption visited
upon them by the powers of Nexus.

Yet as all good things come to an end, so did this grand age of happiness
and in the time when the JUSTICE was weak, and the Royal Houses young the
shadowy powers of darkness were first spotted upon the horizon by the Royal
House of ValMiran. Wasting no time the ValMiran royals gathered with the
Houses of Maelbrim and Miruvhor and quickly formed an elite force of men and
women to counter this threat. Called the Knights of the Crown, and guided by
the Royal Houses, they were Aabahran's last defense against the tides of
darkness.

Yet seeing the House of Maelbrim fickle in their loyalty and pursuit of
riches, and the House of Miruvhor often allied with the dark powers the
newly formed Knights of the Crown knew that only by remaining independent
of these squabbling royals, will their victory be assured.

And thus the Knights of the Crown were formed, and upon their shoulders
rested the safety of Aabahran as they searched for the True King to once
again unite the Royal Houses and bring harmony and peace upon the land
once more.

SPECIAL TRAITS: Experts in fortifications, Knights construct better bastions.
Any area owned by them, will grant moderate health recovery bonus to any
good or neutral aligned creature.

=====

I don't see where it says Knight specialize in fighting undead, or even demons at that.

That said... Knights have more skills and spell dedicating to fighting DEMONS, not undead.

I just wanna go over these two comments again, too.

If you weren't so blunt, then you wouldn't get blunt responses. Not only did you attempt to insult me by saying I need to be doing 'serious mental gymnastics', you also found the change 'funny, cuz this or that'. Want a serious response? Write a serious question, rather than trying to get a rise out of everyone ;)

if Watcher are specialized in fighting undead, why does the Hunter Eternal not do holy damage?

Stalker is specialized in fighting undead, not all of Watcher.  Undead are also only one race that Stalker hunts. The bow is not completely useless.

I'm sorry, Rygothran, but when it comes to Hunter Eternal, you couldn't be any more wrong. Hunter Eternal is an awful bow and now with this change to Undead, the bow is that much more worthless.

Noremove, nouncurse, AND restricted damage noun. With ANY other bow I can use holy arrows, frozen arrows, or if I am an archer I can use my own arrows, etc. With this change to Undead, it'd be a very poor strategical decision to wear this bow and restrict yourself from ever dealing damage to them with arrows.

So, as far as the Hunter Eternal goes, awful, awful, awful item. BUT, Watcher gets Herighon so maybe it evens out? Most cabals only get a single item that's really worth a damn anyways because we have so many rares that outweigh them.
