Mentorship

Hello All!

Glad to have a bit of time to play again and I have a few questions.

1.  How much it takes this place to run per month?

2. Anyone want to be my Mentor?  Like I have been playing on and off here for a long time and I am still terrible, I would like to work with someone in rectifying that problem.  Someone willing to answer questions and handhold me for a while.  Is that even allowed?

Thanks!

I think you'll find the pricing of this place within that link somewhere. If not on a monthly base, a yearly base, which can be easy to figure out the month to month cost. As far as mentoring I don't believe it's against the rules, but the better question is, why would you want a singular person for that role rather than the community? I myself have taken a few breaks that were lengthy as well, but I have found that there's no single person that can help me for everything I need help with, especially since a lot had been changed between my last break and returning a year and a half ago. If you have questions, I'm sure many would be willing to offer you the answers to those questions within reason obviously. What questions do you have though that may actually further hone down what you're seeking?

If I were you, I'd honestly go to @f0xx. He knows the numbers in this game almost as good as the coders and he'll shoot you straight EVERY time. He might be a dick at times, but the dude genuinely means to help.

I agree that @f0xx can provide great insight. As for his attitude, sometimes things need to be said, @f0xx is not going to consider how what he says makes you feel. He is going to tell you what he believes is correct.

Now that's out here.

If you are looking to learn IN GAME specific information, such as quests, end game areas, object locations and ways of procuring them, I would recommend asking the Master Questor regularly until I found one with the answer I sought.

Staff told me a while back that specifics for quests, even in game, shouldn't be given out.  General information on the other hand, is fine.

If this is inaccurate in any way, let me know.

Interesting.

I have always played under the assumption that it is in no way against the rules for my character to give information that directly relates to my characters past. Meaning, it would be illegal for me to tell you of a quest I have not done, however, if you ask me where I got my dragon slayer it is ok for my character to share if sharing fits his RP. Maybe I am wrong in my philosophy, maybe after a character does a quest he should pretend not to know anything of it, because that's in character right? I Like my way of thinking better, but if Staff says I am wrong. I will do as they ask.

As Magick said. Spoonfeeding no, giving hints yes.

E.g. OK: you should look for that shrine in ... area

not ok: that shrine you are looking for is 3 north then 5 west then down in ... area

So that's what I've been doing wrong all these years....
