Zhurong Posted March 3, 2018 Report Share Posted March 3, 2018 A good question could also be, why do Psionicists get "charm" (illusions) that they can do on any mob without any negative affects that kick ass, even through sanc/prot? On top of sleep, petrify, molecular leash (which works WAY better than weapon lock) and paralyze. Link to comment

You're thinking vulns like mithril, iron, silver, etc. Those can't be hit unless you're a thief, ninja or tracker. If you have an air weapon, and there's a couple including (but not limited to) the axe in Cloud Kingdom, you can hit the vuln. Much like wielding a water weapon hits the dwarf/duergar vuln. I believe that's the axe, anyway. Could be wrong. Link to comment

What's the "strategy" against this opponent? 1. Yep, petrify has to be prepared though so once its been used. Quickly recover and don't let him escape. 2. Don't quote me on this, but watcher skill. Elemental call or something? 3. Wait for him to to blow his arsenal of attacks, reset the encounter before he can reset his spells while also making sure you don't get hypnotized. The difference being where if he 'catches you' he has multiple ways to keep you and kill you while if you manage to catch him you have no way to keep him. Link to comment

If I would have had them, I would have stuck around and tried to do some damage. This fight isn't over just yet, haha. This was a pretty piss-poor performance on my part and shows basically what happens when you let yourself get into a bad way against an experienced caster player. I am shocked though about my damage to his vuln. Hitting wounds with an air axe vs an avian was disappointing. You can't elemental call vs your vuln, that's why ferals can't use it vs fire, dwarves, vs water, etc. That first round was a dirt and the following round, but my editor cropped it out. He bolted then and when I caught up I ate a petrify and he had 6 hours to run away. I've a few more things I'm gonna try.. I'll post some more logs of me using different tactics and DEFINITELY a different weapon. The only thing I can think of is that his magic -ac is so high that its cutting the vuln damage drastically, not sure. I'll switch it up.. SKREEEE! Anonymous poster hash: 7176a...acf Link to comment
