I'm sure there are certain hoops you have to jump through in order to promote someone to Trusted, but a Cabal that doesn't have the coup system in place, and the fact that Trusted really isn't a huge achievement such as that of Elder or Leader or even having a character last more than 100 hours in most cases anymore. Otherwise yes, had he not been running low on supplies for a challenge (which even I have done before because I don't want to use a bunch of items if it doesn't result in a guaranteed death), he'd probably have beaten him pretty easily. It was a good fight to read though.
