Mali
With the new score sheet you'll see Hitroll: 100. (Real): 50 as an exaggerated example. Is the same mechanic applied to damroll or does the damroll number as shown = the damroll number as it is operationalized in the code?
Zhurong
It would just be easier for everyone if every number shown was the "real" number, not just hitroll. Would also be nice to have shown how much hp/mana/moves are gained from eq in the score and active spell lvls.

Zhurong
I have no idea because I didn't read through it all, but if the "true" hitroll is shown, why not show everything else?
mya
Be patient grasshopper. Just getting the hitroll must have been Spagetty code hell.
Implementor Erelei Posted January 3, 2019 Implementor Report Share Posted January 3, 2019 Damroll is not capped as traditionally as hitroll is with diminishing returns. It depends on level, and a number of other factors including actual damage being done. That number will be tentatively shown when I add AC as well. Quicksilver
Just so I understand how this all works... if real is showing lower than hitroll, then I would be better off dropping some hit for dam/other stats?

That depends, just keep in mind that any hitroll over 25 will start seeing a reduction (27 hitroll is 26 actual) and reduced gains isn't the same as no gains. I had determined this through testing in the past personally. I was always a little high, sitting at 60 for the target actual. Though this change revealed that I should tone it back a little more. It really devalues things like the terminator that add +5 for high end suits imo. My aim is to sit at 45 to 50 unbuffed, with the buffs dumping into diminished returns for now. Could I draw that back, sure, but then I think I lose a buffer for debuff spells hitting me. The returns do work two ways as well if you consider debuffs. by sittig above the threshold a little, when you get hit with a HR debuff, the debuff hurts you less than if you were below the threshold. This of course, is nothing new, and has been known for years. Anume herself has been a huge advocate of more balanced builds than all hit/dam (which Trick has been the main supporter of). Itemization depends entirely on the player and his playstyle. One style might work for one player, but not for another. Everyone must find his own "truth". Mali
Thanks for clarification. I was only interested if it was being shifted on the back end and the answer is yes. The discussion about display is also good but the original post can be considered answered. My best,
Fool_Hardy
Almost forgot. Welcome home @Mali. We miss you when you're (hate that word... you are?) not here. Edit: Freaking contractions.
